Let's Play Saint's Row 2 for the xBox 360, Playstation 3 and/or PC
Saint's Row 2
Hello, I realize this may seem like an odd request (some people would deem this game un-LPable) but I really would enjoy observing with my eyes someone Let's Play Saint's Row 2 for the xBox 360, Playstation 3 and/or PC (although I have heard the PC got an embarassingly bad port so I don't know how good that would be re: recording). Ideally I would see the game Let's Played in video format (also, dubs not subs - this is one of the few games where voice commentary would actually add to the atmosphere instead of retracting from it, as twisted and out-there as this statement might seem), although if you can find no good method to record a video game you can do screenshots - it's your LP after all! Do whatever you like.

2. (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/emot-siren.gif)Scan the MASTER LIST before making a request for a certain game.(img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/emot-siren.gif) (Searching with a blank box shows Abandoned LPs.)
Under PAGE 16, Return to Zork has also been finished fairly recently, but it is not in the archive. I don't remember who did it, but I could check for this and Unreal.
I did it, and Nemesis too, though I'm less sure whether the latter should be archived (many screenshots have perished and it wasn't that interesting anyway).
If someone has access to SA archives and any desire to submit RTZ I'd be happy with that, but I don't have time to work out how to do it myself at the moment.
From Page 16 Killer 7 has been finished and archived.
You know, it might be easier to just blank the list and start fresh.
/\/\/\/\
Do this, and make the new list in alphabetical order.
It's impossible to find things the way they're listed now. Page numbers don't matter, just put "co-op" or "screenshot" or "sub VLP" or something in parentheses next to the entry if it matters.
Has the Tales of Symphonia thread requested on page 13 already been done? Otherwise, I could possibly play through that one for an LP.
Fallout 1 & 2 are both in the Archive, as is Final Fantasy X. A brief scan of the archive also turns up Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, Sonic 2006, System Shock 2, Trapt, and Zelda Twilight Princess.
The Sonic 2K6 request is for Screenshots so that should stay.
Ape Escape.
Had I a capture device I would start this thread and take part myself.
The Sonic 2K6 request is for Screenshots so that should stay.
Also I remember seeing a Skyblazer LP a while back, was it abandoned?
Also I want to add a request for a Large Party thread. We have a Co-op Thread for two people. But seeing games like the Super Mario Bros. Wii LP and l4d has me wondering if we could get more people to play games with +2 people playing. (Oh God not TF2 again). Such games such as: Mario Party series, 4 player FPS like Halo 3?(don't remember if that was or not), iSketch (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-mmmsmug.gif), or any of those other party games (Wii has a bunch of these).
This is a thread for LP duos, trios, quartets, and just people with friends or significant others to record themselves playing video games together.
Just gonna say it again, The Logical Journey of the Zoombinis needs to be LPd by someone for the PC. (Screenshot with videos for the intros to puzzles and the awesome narrator.)
Ideally blind or semi-blind, as someone who is good at the puzzles would be boring.
So many of those I could do if I had a capture card. (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)

People have tried doing Mario Party
The co-op thread isn't strictly for two-player games. It's meant to encourage more people to LP any kind of co-op game together, whether it's two players or ten.
I think isketch was done as well by "perhaps" Clavius being one of the players?
Also, Wand of Gamelon is listed twice in this thread.
As are Darkened Skye, Fear Effect, Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, Okami, Syndicate, and Valkyrie Profile 2.
Give me a good month and a half and you'll have it.
Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon
Two of the games in that franchise that made it to America had that title. One for N64, and one for Gameboy.
Me & Oyster were talking about doing Mario Party a long, long time ago, but N64 netplay is just horrible. If people are in the same room then it's no problem. The footage we did get put together took an incredible amount of trial and error.
Also you fell asleep on one of your turns.
The larger problem was the latency. It was get-aroundable using savestates and sending the savestate to everyone in the game, then all loading at the same time. There were a couple successful games that were posted in the my MM2 thread, but none of them had Terror Van in them. Might have just been him living in Canada. It's doable, but a pain.

I'd like to request that someone do a VLP of Serious Sam: The First Encounter, Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, and Serious Sam II under the following conditions:
I'd like to see an SS/Video(for bosses and choice cutscenes) LP of FFX-2 done by someone who likes the game and doesn't suck at it (no 3xWarrior or DkDkAl please). X-2 has great gameplay options and a fun atmosphere about it that I think could be transferred well to an LP if done right.
FFX-2... a fun atmosphere
Square capitalizing on their fans being retarded is fun now?

I think I speak for at least three other people when I say that I'd love to see a VLP of Deadly Premonition.
I think I speak for at least three other people when I say that I'd love to see a VLP of Deadly Premonition.
The beginning of Strange Matter's The World Ends with You LP seemed to nail the style and presentation proper for the game, a hybrid SS/VLP with a shitload of dialogue in between. Sadly, things went belly up about halfway through the first game week, but I'd love to either see that thread resurrected or another one with a similar approach to the game.
Advance Wars Series. So far Paul.Power's run of advanced wars 2 is pretty dang awesome.
Bioshock Just Offscreen's lp is supposedly good, haven't watched it myself.
Call of Duty: World at War - 360; Video. Bunnyofdoom just posted a test video for this in the sandcastle a few days ago.I am super retarded and don't know what's what.
Crysis/Crysis Warhead - PC; Video P_R_Deltoid's run just started up after a hiatus, haven't watched it myself.
Homeworld, PC, Video. Kinger's done a pretty good subtitled homeworld lp, supposedly going to continue on to Cataclysm and HW2.
Republic Commando
Pannycakes did a decently informative subtitled run. Watched it myself.
Super Robot Wars Series; multiple consoles SuperGraffiti and MoominBiscuit's worst games thread have a pair of videos of one of these games. Direct links to videos:Nevermind! Watch these anyway.
Video 1
Video 2
Viva Pinata; Xbox 360/ PC, Screenshot. There's an abandoned attempt in the forum archives, I don't have archives to find the link but it certainly happened.

the game me and SG played.
So I sorted through the 'unfufilled requests' list. Mostly from memory
Sorry man, I'm doing Call of Duty 3, not WaW (that's 5, I think)
That is indeed true. Dunno what I was thinking.
Someone needs to do an Omikron: The Nomad Soul LP. I was surprised when I checked the master list and didn't find an entry, it's perfect for an LP. I was going to do it myself, but it's not working out.
Using compatibility mode, rolling back video card drivers, using Virtual PC, installing Linux and using Wine, nothing I do will make it work on my computer. The closest I can get is using software rendering with minimum settings. The game looks hideous with lots of graphical glitches, and going into the inventory crashes my computer.
Jet Set Radio Future.
I wouldn't mind seeing a VLP of the first Just Cause game. I've been playing a bit of the second one and wouldn't mind seeing how they differ/why the first one got such lower review scores.
There was drakkel's thread, but I don't think it got too too far. Here's that, but you need SA archives.
I can only find videos 5 and 6 on rock tumbler's viddler, but maybe the thread would elucidate things a little.
(((ps is blue stinger still coming : c)))
I would be delighted to see a Kingdom Hearts VLP.
Preferably with a few commentators. I'm surprised this hasn't been done yet.
You want Kung-Fu Jesus to do the other one then?
Yeah, despite the fact that I haven't watched his KH2 lp.

Only Final Mix allows you to skip cutscenes but it's in Japanese which would mean I'd have to decipher skills which would mean slowing down NEVER SLOW DOWN
Could just memorise 'em.
I don't have them memorized
Just recently started to play Darksiders on the 360 and I'm thinking that this is the perfect game for a VLP by someone like Ambisagrus or Maxwell Adams. Do you accept the challenge gentlemen? (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-tiphat.gif)
I actually am planning to do this as soon as I get my HD PVR. It'll be a few months, though. Still don't have the money for the damned thing.
I'd like to see an LP of Final Fantasy: Dissidia for the PSP. As a fighting game, video would be the only way to go. Ideally the commentary would be done by a Final Fantasy nerdmeister who knew every reference the game makes to the franchise.
Totally calling this one. I've been playing that thing for over 200 hours at this point, and indeed I am a Final Fantasy nerdmeister.
Now I just have to find a way to record off of my PSP in a way that doesn't involve crappy camcorder work.
I'd like to see a video LP of Lost Odyssey for the Xbox 360. I'm a huge fan of jRPGs, but I have a PS3, not a 360, so I'm unable to play it.
The only way this would work would be by cutting a huge portion of the random fights. Seriously, in this game the average battle takes about 10 minutes to finish...
Someone should do the Metroid Prime games, i'd love to watch those.
I think BlackbeltBobman did them already, though they're not on the lparchive.
I think BlackbeltBobman did them already, though they're not on the lparchive.
Indeed. That's about the only reason I didn't try doing something for those games; he's already done an excellent job there. (That links directly to the video list, so it bypasses the requirement for archives.)
Then you wouldn't get to hear the excellent soundtrack. :|
Please, re-LP them. Or anyone else, really. Metroid Prime is one of my favorite series and Bobman's LP of it was just bad.
I've finally resigned myself from ever doing this, so I hope someone will do Obsidian.

Anything in particular that you detested?

An atmospheric game with the ur-goon* rambling over it almost non-stop. Hmm. I wonder what could be wrong with this picture.
*someone will want explanation: here are some of the topics I recall from watching MP1 only in there - LF threads, HIS GIRLFRIEND, ron paul jokes out the ass, oh man did you see that one guy post badly/get banned?, helldump is funny (when it's not aimed at me)... etc.
The constant off topic babble. He played alright but I didn't need to know every part he had or his views on politics.
I'd like to see somebody tackle the SOCOM series of games.

Obsidian is on my shortlist, along with a bunch of other FMV games. I'll gladly do it after I get done with Black Dahlia and the game after. I'm debating just doing a catch-all FMV/Myst-style game thread.
You know, I would kill to see a goon do an LP of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. There is an LP of it on youtube, but it is garbage quality and garbage commentary by some 12 year old...
Great game though. Could make for a good video LP, especially for us star wars goons.
Was that the Jango Fett game for Gamecube? A friend of mine has mentioned that he's thinking of doing that in the summer.
I, for one, would like to see a pair of goons do co-op on Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I did that with a friend once and it was actually really fun. Then again, both of us are terrible at FPS's...

I think there's a way to connect a cable from the PSP to the computer. But overall a user did do a LP on Patapon here > http://lparchive.org/LetsPlay/Patapon/ so maybe Ambisagrus can help?
Yes but this requires a PSP with CFW, custom PC drivers for it to read the PSP video buffer, and a male-to-male audio cable if you want audio. (this is all assuming you have a 1000 model psp, all the others have an A/V out option by buying a special cable)
That being said I could have it up and running in a moments notice, so if anyone would mind doing post-commentary on videos I wouldn't mind capturing it for you, all I'd have to do is render your Dissidia replay files, and before you say it I already figured out a work around for needing to unlock the replay saver and for cutscenes.
You know I think Dissidia has a record battle option on the game. If I know the hacking community, if those saved videos can't be used on computers I'm sure that they have already done it. You could kind of do this as a picture Let's Play somehow with videos of the menus and such then add the cut scenes and the battles as pure videos.
The very same. You should tell your friend that if he does, he will be the hero of at least one LP Fan.
I'd like to request that someone do a run of the Discworld PC games. Especially Discworld Noir, since that one didn't make it over to the U.S. I tried watching the old LP on the master list, but it seemed like a bit of a trainwreck.
Amber is also on the list, as well as Noir, The Last Resort, X-Files and Dark Side of the Moon. I was planning on doing Noir next.
There is a playthrough of Discworld Noir available on youtube. It's pretty well done, with captions explaining references to the novels. I took a stab at LPing the game myself, but it is so dialog heavy that it didn't really work out.

I'd also love to see an LP of the older Metroid games, particularly Metroid and [b/]Metroid II[/b]. I know slowbeef did a Super Metroid LP, and I've seen a couple for Zero Mission on the Archive, but I haven't seen anything for these (or Metroid Fusion, for that matter).
Someone needs to LP Dokapon Kingdom for the Wii. It's a party RPG with a childish appearance, but you are encouraged to steal from and murder your enemies. This would be best suited to a Video LP. Also, three or four people make this hilarious to watch.
Being a lazy (and simultaneously REALLY BUSY) arse, I'd like to see an LP of Mystic Ark for the SNES (Super Famicom, if you want to be anal about it) done sometime in screenshot. There's a couple of different patches out for it, but it doesn't matter to me which one is used. It's got a pretty unique layout to the game, some interesting settings, and a semi-adventure game sort of approach to things at times (investigate item up close, mess with it, use item on it, etc.). Just a thought.
Is that the one that's a sorta-spritual sequel to 7th Saga? Hopefully it plays better. Awesome music though, that much I know.
Game: Perfect Dark Zero
System: Xbox 360
Style: Video (info/comedy)
PDZ is the 2005 prequel to Perfect Dark (N64, 2000), and a spiritual descendant of GoldenEye: 007; and (arguably) a peer of Duke Nukem Forever in the field of fan disservice, and development drama. (A link to Evil Tim's tragically abandoned LPs of both games)
A brief teaser trailer/tech demo of the GameCube version of the game was shown off at Nintendo's SpaceWorld 2000 expo. At the time, it was rumored to be a direct sequel to PD64 with a time travel based story line. Two years went by without so much as a single screenshot. After Microsoft's $375M buyout of Rare in the Fall of 2002 ((img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-master.gif)) they released a handful of character renders of a manga styled Joanna Dark from an Xbox version of the game, (This engine test footage was leaked a couple of years ago) it promptly dropped off the face of the earth once more, and was believed to have been canceled outright, until MS started their viral marketing campaign for for the Xbox 360 in the Spring of '05. Which culminated in a hilariously embarrassing half-hour MTV special that created the 'Wall-Guy' meme (watch if you dare!). Microsoft seemed to think that PDZ would be the killer-app for the 360's launch, but the game just wasn't cut out for it. It was fairly well received by critics, (81 on Metacritics) who were presumably too blinded by the 360's shiny newness to notice the (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-byodame.gif) art style, arthritic gameplay, insultingly short length, and horrifically bad voice acting and writing.
PDZ wasn't the blockbuster that Bill Gates & co. hoped it would be, but supposedly ended up going platinum after about a year. MS tried to replicated the Halo expanded universe's success by commissioning two novels by Greg Rucka, and a godawful comic mini-series, but the franchise has never really taken off.
Anyway, I think that PDZ's quirky history, and general unpleasantness makes it well suited to being LP'd.
Game: P.N.03 (Product Number Three)
System: GameCube
Style: Video. A skill run would be nice, but everything's up to the LP'er
A lot of the best LPs seem to be based on oddball cult games, (ILLBLEED being a good example) and you don't get much more cult than P.N.03.
P.N.03 was one of the four original IPs in Shinji Mikami's infamous 'Capcom Five', and was sort of the odd-man-out: It received little press and was treated with undue harshness by critics (with the noteable exception of Play Magazine), and it sold poorly as a result. This prevented it from being ported to the PS2, which in turn kept it from finding a wider audience which is a shame, because it's one of the most unappreciated games of its generation in my opinion. Though it had many flaws, P.N.03 was one thing that most games never even try to be: unique.
P.N.03 really defies classification, but it could be fairly described as an Arcade Shooter/Rhythm Game hybrid (gameplay footage) with an ultra-minimalist art style, hypnotic soundtrack, and some graphics and animation that where quite impressive for their time.
I'd sort of like to LP this game myself, but laking the necessary equipment, all I can do is hope that someone will read this, decide to help shed some light on this forgotten gem.

Have you been playing it alone? Because it's only really fun when you're playing with a group of friends.
But I agree that it's not a game you want to watch played.
There were many friends involved
e: wait are we doing a real lp of that this summer or just until we get too mad to continue?

So a few months back I tried to do an LP of The World Ends With You on account of it being my favorite DS game. Unfortunately I really lacked the technical skill to do the game justice, and really had no choice but to drop it in the face of crippling recording difficulties and the daunting enormity of the task itself. It's an amazing game that really deserves a good LP of it, so I'm putting it out there.

I never really had a very firm grasp on the software itself, and couldn't (and still can't) use codecs properly. As a result, the videos I made didn't come out as well as they probably could, and the once my camtasia trial ran out, I couldn't find a piece of software that I could use as well as it.
I'm not particularly upset over it; my Robopon thread is proving to be much more sucessful on a creative level than TWEWY. Added to that, each update took like 6 hours to complete, compared to the 90 minutes Robopon, and I just plain don't have that kind of time anymore.
Interesting...I've got a different LP planned out right now, but hell, if no one's gotten around to TWEWY in a couple months, I might give it a shot(it's totally my favorite DS game, too (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-allears.gif)).
I gotta ask - Are you incredibly good at the game with a mouse for the combat system? Because good luck if you're not.
That is, incredible infodumps and screenshot work and background research to explain every single little pin. Amazing game, but really, really work heavy for an LP, I imagine.
I'd also love to see an LP of the older Metroid games, particularly Metroid and Metroid II.
Anyone feel like doing a LP for Chrono Cross? It's really strange to see 2 LPs for Chrono Trigger but none completed for Chrono Cross.
It's actually not that strange. Chrono Cross is considered cursed because a) it's a huge undertaking and b) it's infuriating to play what with all the baggage associated with it. Also for anyone who actually reads LP threads it would quickly turn into Chrono Compendium lite wherein there would be nonstop bitching and long winded diatribes about canon, etc. It amounts to a bunch of dumb shit no one is willing to put up with for long.
Which is a damn shame because Chrono Cross has excellent visuals, fantastic music, and lends itself well to screenshots. There have been a few attempts but so far none have finished.
(img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-swoon.gif) LP superstars (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-swoon.gif)
A while back, I had an idea for a Sonic Heroes LP. But this wouldn't be a normal LP. This would be an all-star cast. Each team in the game would have their levels commentated on by a different set of famous LPers.
Team Sonic
-Pokecapn
-KungFuJesus
-Medibot
-IllVes
Team Dark
-Slowbeef
-Diabeetus
-Proteus
Team Rose
-Roosevelt
-Cherry Doom
-Drakkel
Team Chaotix
-Chip Cheezum
-Ironicus
For the final stage they all come together and the resulting video is exponentially more epic than the game itself.
Please do this.
EDIT: I know someone already did a Sonic Heroes LP. I figure this is a different enough idea to warrant a new request.

Only if you do it on Fandom Secrets.

True, there just are too many awesome LPers for one game. We also need Chewbot, DocFuture, and a bunch of other people. Anyone know any games where there are enough playable characters to pull off something giant like this?
Who wants to be with who on this? I just grouped people depending on who they did their best work with.
Do a TF2 LP, that way you can have all the LP superstars in one game! Imagine the fun times that would arise!

It's been more than three months, I want a Bayonetta LP.
The game has such a crazy amount of weapons, moves, enemy variety, and level variety. The cutscenes are either hilarious or commentary-worthy when they aren't (if you do commentary on soundtracks have a separate audio track/version). There's more than enough content to do one regular playthrough on Normal and a second playthrough on Hard while taking suggestions from the thread for certain conditions for each update (like "only using such-and-such weapons", "blocking only, no dodging", etc).
Seriously someone LP Bayonetta already (I can't do it myself because no capture card (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/negativeman-55f.png)).
Has anyone done a Tales of Vesperia game yet? I rented it for a month, and I never got to do all those cool side quests. (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Here's a bunch of games I'd like to see:
1. Star Trek TNG: Echoes from the Past/Future's Past (Genesis/SNES): I was looking forward to this as a kid and actually sort of liked. I never finished it though and now I suck too much at ship to ship combat to give it another try. Also, it's a pretty shitty game. The SNES and Genesis versions are more or less identical, so I don't care which one is played. This could work as a screenshot LP, but I'd prefer videos. The missions are fairly short and there isn't that much text.
If someone could see their way to doing a VLP of Red Dead Revolver on the PS2/Xbox that'd be great. It's a fairly overlooked game with some nice humor, interesting characters and a fun multiplayer mode which could make for interesting bonus material.
Now's a great time to re-visit it what with the sequel coming out. It'd be a welcome refresher for those who played it and an intersting point of comparison for anyone going into the new game blind.
I own Future's past but have never beaten it. This could give me an excuse to. I think I could do screenshot LP because as I recall the levels are fairly maze like and not much happens on screen.
It would be nice to see an LP of inFAMOUS for PS3. I don't know exactly what style it would be, video or screen shot could work.
That's unnerving, I was just thinking about Skies of Arcadia myself. I can never seem to muster up the willpower to slog through it a second time, so I'd welcome a good LP of it.
I'd like to see a mostly straight-up VLP of Valkyria Chronicles with vocal commentary and HD quality videos.
You do know that the game has already been LPed right?
Granted it's a subVLP which not everyone finds enjoyable.
The LP in the archives isn't really to my taste, so I'd like to see another one done with voice commentary.
3. Bomberman Generation for the Gamecube - Another really fun 3D action game
I would love to see someone try to do an LP of Lifeline for the PS2, a survival horror game thats main gimmick was that you had to control the heroine through voice recognition and sometimes, this went very wrong when you would sit screaming at her to pick up a book and she would do something like "Run in circles! Okay!" Other requirements are things like (I'm not making this up) saying tongue twisters to restore your health. You are near death and required to recite "A noise annoys an oyster but a noisy noise annoys an oyster more." Obviously this game would lend itself very nicely to voiced commentary, and preferably without prior knowledge of the "exact" right words to use to get the main protagonist to perform an action.

I've heard of the game before and it does sound like an ideal game for a blind a run as the frustration of dealing with the interface grows over the course of the game.
Does anyone know if all it requires is a USB microphone or does it have to be a special "PS2 microphone"?
I know there's one in the archives already, but I'd like to see another LP of Kid Chameleon for the Sega Genesis. I'd like it to be video with live commentary, and played semi-blind.
GuidoAnchovies did a good LP, but his missed a lot of the frustration that comes from not being familiar from the game. I'd like to see someone play it and half stumble their way through it, rather than blazing their way through it like he did. I say half stumble because I pity the person who tries to LP the game completely blind.
I can't remember if any headsets other than Logitech ones worked with the Playstation 2. I remember I used the old Socom headset that was packaged with the game way back when to play this game.
A strange request, and it might not get any following, but here it is - I'd really like to see someone who's good at Civilization IV (preferably BtS but any version will do) do an informative video LP of a playthrough.
It could be heavily edited to fast-forward over parts but the reason I am after a VLP rather than screenshots is because I find screenshots lack the coherence of a video - it's very difficult for me to pick what cities are specialised in what, how many army dudes are made in defense / offense, et cetera.
I'm basically picturing Bob Ross does Civ 4 (the recent Demon Souls LP is actually a good example of the kind of feel I'm picturing), where I get to pick up some valuable strategy tips to help along my atrocious play (I get stomped on Warlord :/)
Anyways, I might be the only person on the planet to think this is a good idea but I figured I'd throw it out there.
there's actually one guy on youtube (yeah, i know) who apparently does very informative playthroughs of BTS. i haven't seen them myself because i cant be arsed to watch that much civ because im a scrub and dont care about getting better. i'll edit this once i ask my friend who it was who was doing them.
Pretty sure it's the MeInTeam, profile here: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheMelnTeam
He's very knowledgeable, and all his LP's are on Immortal, the second highest difficulty. His posts on the Civfanatics forums are pretty awesome too.

Watching his first LP, and he probably gets better over time, but hey, this isn't actually that bad. It probably proves that such a feat is doable and probably even watchable by non civ players if the LPer would employ heavy editing and be more clear/informative about what they're doing.
Doesn't the game have something like 100 stages? That's asking a lot given there's no password system and no/few continues. I'm amazed it was done ONCE.
With Mario Galaxy 2 now out, I'd love to see the original Super Mario Galaxy done in the same vein as Sartak's abandoned LP. Video, either subs or voiced would work. The kind of skill people display in Mario games (even one as reportedly easy as Galaxy) is amazing for those who don't have the time or money to go after a 100% game.
edit: It's not like I'm bad at the game, I've gotten 242 stars you know!
How much vein is the same vein? I've mulled over doing the game a couple of times now, but the way I'd be recording and getting commentary, you'd be seeing first successful attempts at stars rather than practiced speed runs.

Requesting An Untitled Story, an amazing freeware platforming and exploration game. A video LP of the game would be well worth watching.
http://everything.raocow.com/game.php?id=47
Yeah it's raocow, and that may or may not be your thing. But he LPs this game exactly how you need to - semi-blindly, but getting people to tell him things he missed so he can 100% it. He shows all deaths but edits out the tedious retries that lead to the deaths. And he stays on the topic of the game mostly...but he's still raocow. The point is I really liked this LP.
Raocow
He is still around the LP forum? I thought he went the way of DC and exists now only on youtube. Please tell me if I am wrong, I really want to be.
He posts here once in a blue moon, but he hasn't posted an LP thread here in a long time. I think a few of his fans here got a little bit too obsessive for him.
Metroid 2: The Return of Samus
Could someone maybe do Dead Rising? A video lets play? A humorous commentary would be nifty (img http://i.somethingawful.com/images/emot-dance.gif) Played it on a friend's Xbox, got irritated with the controls, and gave up. Seeing someone actually good at the game wreck general havoc would be awesome. Kinda surprised this isn't in the archive or OP (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-ohdear.png)
I remember there was one. I don't know what happened to it, though.

His Dead Rising LP is back! (img http://i.somethingawful.com/images/emot-dance.gif)
If there's an LPer out there with a strong tolerance for JRPG's, I'd like to see an LP done of Eternal Sonata. Ideally, either the 360 or PS3 version would work, but from what I've heard, the PS3 version is a little more bearable so far as the plot goes, and has more bonus content. As for format, it's an RPG that involves a lot of running around through long corridors and very VERY long cutscenes, so a screenshot LP would probably be best.
e: Though come to think of it, that describes a whole lot of RPG's.

I would love to see an Armored Core LP. Preferably a Video LP. With the audience getting to choose the basic layout of the Robot.
Your post made me download it, and I'm loving the game so far. I'll get to it when I finish my Evangelion 64 LP.
Now that the fantastic Fatal Frame IV LP is coming to a close, I'd really like to see someone do the first or third games as a subtitled, atmospheric LP.

If I ever get enough money saved up to buy a half decent sized external HD (or a computer) and a capture method that works (the one I tried had an input delay, which for ES is just not going to work) I am going to LP this game. BECAUSE EVERYBODY MUST SUFFER (and also Chopin is awesome).
I checked the Master List and saw no one had done Army of Two, which has been requested. A buddy and I are gonna Co-op it here and I'll post it later tonight or early tomorrow morning.
If you do this, it'd be really cool if you could also point out the glaring inaccuracies they make when it comes to Chopin's actual life. I didn't play much of the game, but I was crying bull during a couple of the historical cutscenes.
That would be oatmeal raisin's attempt, a great LP that will never be finished (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-smith.gif)

Wouldn't mind seeing a Daggerfall LP. Especially since it's free now...
Screenshot preferred, but any format would be fine.
Does the free download version have patches because if someone is doing Daggerfall I'd kind of want to see them play it unpatched with all of the bugs intact. And lots of screenshots of falling through geometry holes.
(we don't talk about the voice acting though)
I imagine the commentary would quickly devolve into non-stop mocking of the voice acting...and that makes me want to see it even more.
EDIT: Gorgeous as those games are, they're also pretty damn silly even by JRPG standards. I doubt I could sit through commentary that takes the game seriously.

LP'ing Daggerfall in any capacity would be an absolute nightmare. Between falling through the ground, randomly awakening at negative health, skeletons walking backwards, randomly technicolour skies, the looping lich roar that lasted past when you quit the game until you reset the computer
It's not fucking worth it.
Also once you were more than 25 updates in all of the save files will become corrupt except the one where the main plot is unfinishable.
If anyone is going to try this they need to show off the patch notes as a warning to others.
I love Daggerfall to tiny glitchy bits but I am astounded that I have never snapped the CD in half from pure fury
Deus Ex - PC, Video with Voice commentary.
Requesting Poke646 and Poke646: Vendetta. Two very good half-life mods that I'd like to see some commentary on.
I've finally resigned myself from ever doing this, so I hope someone will do Obsidian.

Update on this: thread will be up within the next week or so. I'll be starting with Amber, which is rather short, and then doing Obsidian, as well as some other games afterward.
A rather offbeat suggestion: Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon for the N64. As of now, my computer is incapable of running N64 games at full speed (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-eng99.gif), or otherwise it'd be on top of my list. A weird, bizarre title, it's also quite fun, fairly short (9-10 hours), and extremely easy.

How does this even happen? That's the funniest thing I've read in a long time.
... I was considering doing a large Half-Life mods thread. I haven't checked the master list, yet, or done any extensive skimming of the non-archived threads to make sure it hasn't already been done.
How does this even happen? That's the funniest thing I've read in a long time.
The Goemon games get requested a lot. I've been preparing to LP them for awhile - including the SNES ones - but it's gotta wait until August-ish for me to get a new capture card.
I remember renting this game as a kid. I really wanted to like it...but I didn't own a memory pak! (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/negativeman-55f.png)
So, seconding that I would love to see this. The sequel, Goemon's Great Adventure is also worth looking at. (I was actually able to play that one. Made it all the way to the final level...which is a gauntlet of pain I never made it through.)
Has anybody ever attempted to LP World of Warcraft. I know it sounds like a bad game to LP, but I think if a small group of talented, funny guys were to attempt it, it could make for a really entertaining LP. Anyone else agree?

Good news! Some friends and I are going to do LPs of both games starting next week (Mystical Ninja before Goemon's Great Adventure, even though there's no continuity). Also if we have enough time before the end of the summer, I have Skies of Arcadia for Gamecube and we could LP that as well.
Game: Operation Darkness (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gT2g...feature=related)
System: Xbox 360
Style: whatever
Why: You know what WWII needed? Anime. So the makers of Operation Darkness delivered, making a tactical RPG with anime inspired characters.
But wait.
The game is an epic quest to end the Nazi regime's plan to build an atomic bomb by fighting your way through Africa, Russia, France, and other locales with Allied agents Jack the Ripper (the grizzled veteran who went a bit crazy in White Chapel a few decades back), Herbert West (the team medic), and many other familiar faces while encountering Hitler's sinister vampire clan. Thankfully, werewolves come to your aid and you're off on a series of battles against Hitler's armies of the undead, aforementioned vampires, dragons, and other fiends.
I'm confused, is this some sort of Valkyria Chronicles knockoff with werewolves and demons instead of thinly veiled bubbly anime Allied forces ?

The game diverges significantly from real history in that zombies of deceased Nazi soldiers appear as adversaries, and two of the player characters can transform into werewolves.

Well, you have one loyal viewer already.
It'll be interesting to see the angle you take with these games. You could either be crazy about the games because of how weird and quirky (and, frankly, bizarre) it they, or you could bash them for the same reason. Will be interested to see which route you take. PS: how familiar are you with them going in?
I hope this will be a VLP: Goemon's soundtrack is one of the best of the N64 era and is one of the things that makes the series what it is.
If someone were to do an LP of Breakdown I would be all over that.
It will probably be up in a week or two.
With that said, you might not be thrilled by my approach if your reason for the request is "People deserve to see this under-appreciated game". The punchline will be that the game shouldn't be the cult classic that it inexplicably is; I've found that its fans tend to ignore the fact that it's incredibly bad.

Isn't this the point of being a fan of a cult classic ?

What would probably be really cool would be to LP the new Worgen/Goblin content in the next expansion. Their starting zones only last 10 levels and each have an awesome storyline to follow, and there are very few "KILL X NUMBER OF DUDES" quests.
World of Warcraft, fuck yeah!
I have Skies of Arcadia for Gamecube and we could LP that as well.
Aww heck, I was planning on doing that also and I was doing a testplaythrough where I was in the final area

Either of these would make me really happy! SoA:Legends is one of my favourite RPGs ever ever...but then, I loved the Golden Sun games, so what do I know?
So is there anyone that will enjoy watching a let's play of Obscure?
I'm not talking about its prequel The aftermath but the french survival horror game one taking place in a highschool, involving monsters and 2000's students cliché.
I think it'll be an interesting Voidburger/Egomaniac way of let's play with subtitles, the gameplay is kind of like the late Alone in the dark with the same combining item and light mechanics.
Also, I have to admit that I had my mind on this game for a while now and I'm intending to try a test video in the sandcastle pretty soon.
Oh you mean Stan, Kenny, and Mr. Garrison vs The Plant Monsters. Also, The Aftermath is a sequel, not a prequel.
I know what you mean, I love SoA myself but when I take off the rose tinted goggles it has some Serious flaws that I wonder why I stuck through, honestly though I'm used to the dreamcast version, that's why I had to do a testplaythrough early

I'm going to request Legend of Dragoon, an RPG by Sony for the PS1, for whoever really doesn't like themselves. It's a long, involved, and somewhat dreary game, but it has special nostalgic value for me. I'd like it in screenshot, but that's not really important.
Might be willing to toss whomever did it a forum upgrade just for slogging through all four discs, but that's neither here nor there.
An Alan Wake Lets Play would be glorious.
It's been done, but it isn't in the LP archives. So if you really want to read it that badly, you can get archives.
Thread:
http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh...hreadid=2499993
I'm sure people will be falling over themselves to do that one once it's allowed. My two seconds of research on the subject suggests that it's been out for less than two months.
I didn't know there was a rule against this? (is there?)
I keep hearing a lot of things about the absurd activities possible in Saints Row 2 and to the best of my knowledge there is not yet an LP of it (at least not here). I need to see incredible abuse take place in video form. Vehicle surfing, "insurance fraud," cheat codes. I don't give a shit about the storyline, just go nuts.

Apparently there's something similar going on in the Co-Op thread, as well, but I haven't watched it yet.
Blazing Dragons
Has anyone ever attempted an LP of Blazing Drgons? It's perfect LP material, seeing as it's a mediocre point and click adventure game, on a platform not well suited to them, with an absolutely amazing voice cast and pretty amusing writing/dialogue.
I'm surprised people have heard of it, though. I was going to put it in the ranks of Flight of the Amazon Queen and Fable as "adventure games nobody but me has ever heard of" and try to surprise everyone.

I think it was actually somewhat famous, perhaps because Terry Jones was involved.
I'd like to second the request for Borderlands on the PC. The game has so many weapons that no sane player would use, which makes them perfect for an LPer.
You know, I was thinking recently how much I'd love to see a really good LP of...
Game: Super Mario 64
System: N64
Style: VLP, sub or voice
The last time this game was LPed (according to the Archive) was back in 2007, and that LP is currently hosted on Google Video. I think it's time someone did this game again.
I'm not asking for anything super-informative. In fact, a more casual LP of the game might be more fun. Really there are a lot of ways to do this and I'd be interested in seeing it no matter how it's handled.
I'd like to request Mass Effect 2 on any system - Voice/Video LP'd.
It's a great game with many alternate routes/endings with tonnes of backstory.
EDIT: Incidentally, this makes me wonder whether DJ_ferret and lesserworm are still around.
They never finished ME1, right? Their first thread died and they restarted it, but I didn't really follow after that. It's funny because I never would have bought Mass Effect 1 without their LP.
They finished it but never posted the last bonus update. And ditto on the LP getting me to buy it. 24 playthroughs later, I've got a lot to thank them for.
Well, funny you should mention that. I actually happen to be planning Super Mario 64 as my next LP.
Do you think you have a fresh take on it? The problem with it (or any of the Mario games) is that unless you have something new to bring to the table, the viewing experience ends up "Yeah, Mario sure is ground pounding. Yeah, that sure is Big Boo. The camera sucks, amirite, guys?"
I can absolutely guarantee you I will be doing something no one has done with it.
I'm going to be attempting to do an LP of Super Mario 64 playing with my feet (yes, I can do this).
That does involve hands but only for tilting the controller. Guess you'll just have to see.
Velvet Assassin, for the X-Box 360. A stealth game with extremely limited ammunition, where you control a female spy stabbing people in the back in World War II. Surprisingly good graphics and sound for a game made by a developer I never heard of and even has some highly interesting dialogue to listen to. Would probably be an interesting LP.
Someone should do Fox Hunt. Old DOS game that is all FMV. I have it sitting around here somewhere, but I don't have a computer old enough to play it, so I'm hoping someone else will.
Vampire Rain- video, X360/PS3.
This game looks so painfully bad: it's a Splinter Cell clone with vampires where for the first half of the game you don't have a dependable weapon, enemies arbitrarily see you/don't, and you can get game over from one hit from one enemy if they see you--oh yeah and they're often disguised as normal humans so it's hard to tell where they are! It also boasts tons of glitches in its 360 incarnation (really, that'd be the one I'd like to see, they fixed the PS3 port a little bit), plus a goofy plot!
Game Trailers review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZhHpt4-8_M
Apparently there's some vague attempt at satire on George Bush's administration in the story as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyNv...feature=related

Final Fantasy Tactics 1.3 - screenshot, PSX
Somebody made a romhack of Final Fantasy Tactics that fixes all the brokenly powerful crap and actually makes all of the fights difficult, not just three of them. Practically everybody has played FFT anyway, so there's probably a sizable audience that would be interested in seeing somebody play it and being forced to use strategy instead of just spamming through every fight with thunder gods and the power of multiplication tables. Apparently it adds the translation from War of the Lions too, so the story won't be a complete trainwreck.
I would LOVE to see a screenshot LP of Grandia 2, that "other" RPG that came out on the Dreamcast around the same time Skies of Arcadia came out. I know Skies got all the love, but I have a soft spot for Grandia 2, and I think it had a very dark, underrated story. Plus, the combat kicked ass.
Rocket Knight Adventures - Genesis; Video
Ninja Blade for the X-Box 360.
It's basically Ninja Gaiden meets Devil May Cry with a boatload of Quick Time Events thrown in. The protagonist is a ninja fighting mutant zombies and giant monsters in a modern-day city. It looks slick and plays well, but went underneath most people's radar. It'd probably make an interesting LP.
^^^^^ They LPed Assassin's Creed 1.
You're going to include a video of your feet playing the game, right?
Well, once slowbeef answers the PM I sent him (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-argh.gif), I'm going to answer the request for Red Dead Revolver. The game includes a fantastic soundtrack composed from old Spaghetti Western films. It's a little delayed because I need to make sure it's alright to post music tracks from the game. (Considering that there was no official soundtrack released and most, if not all of the movies they use are out of print.)
I'd like to see somebody rampage through Super Metroid: Eris blindly. Of course, it is a rom hack, but it's a pretty good one (and pretty tough.)
I'd love to see a TIE fighter LP, or if someone can point me to one in archives, that'd be just as good (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/smile.gif).
Throwing up a suggestion. The either hillarious, or tasteless political satire, Liberal Crime Squad.
Yes, it was made by the same guy who made Dwarf Fortress.
Requesting subtitled LPs for both Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3, if possible (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-shobon.gif) I think there were ports for each of them (over to PC, at the least), but I don't have a preference.
Was hoping VoidBurger would give the whole series a stab, but I guess she's on a break, at the very least (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-ohdear.png)
Done and finished by Mister Sinewave.
Liberal Crime Squad
I know it's not entirely what you're looking for, but agentjr's LPs of Silent Hill 2 and 3 (and 4) on Youtube are pretty great. It's a voice-commentary, but he's not a asshole trying to be funny, and he goes through the games with great care.

Official request: Strike Commander.
Is it even possible to get anymore? I'm beginning to think I hallucinated that game when I was 8. (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Myth 3: The wolf age would just be fantastic.
So totally in the works, expect test posts in like a month. I want to build up a backlog first though, so the thread is still a few months away, I think.

I think the three month limit is up for Alan Wake.
On Nightmare, picking up every page, of course.
I still have the booklet / manual somewhere, so I can reassure you it's real enough!
And I agree, it would be great to see - while I have played some WC games rather excessively, I don't even know the general story outline of SC.
And every coffee thermos and shooting every can pyramid.
100% run.
Meh. Those are totally gratuitous collectibles that add nothing to the game. If the prospective LPer really wants to, I'm not going to object. But the pages actually constitute story, and I'm never going to play the game on Nightmare to get those pages, so I'd like to see them in any LP that's done.
Heyheyhey, I'm on it! Just gimme a lil while to get this SH1 bonus vid worked out, and then (after finishing up the Silent Hill Arcade, probably...) I'll be right on those two games like no one's business. They're my favorites :3
I just got through TwoDayLife's Oddworld: Abe's Odessee LP, which was pretty fun to watch. However, I've searched high and low and I'm unable to find a decent Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus LP. Also, I think the Munch's Odysee LP was abandoned some time last year, which bummed me out. I really like the Oddworld setting.
How about someone do The Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery. Also since Kung-Fu Jeusus only did a combat run of Kingdom Hearts 2, someone could do a full LP of the game?
I'm hoping that when FirstAidKite finishes KH, he'll move onto the sequel. So count this as another request, I guess.
Someone needs to do Nier seriously.
Someone needs to do Nier seriously.
Someone well-versed in Japanese legends and myths and stuff should make an LP of Muramasa: The Demon Blade. I've never played it, but I understand it's got a lot of mythical creatures in it and stuff like that and I'd like to learn about that sort of thing. Plus I think it'd be pretty entertaining, especially if you're good at the game. Be sure to cut out all of the particularly boring stuff, though, because I'm sure like Odin Sphere it'll have lots of backtracking and samey areas.
Also, a subtitled LP of Brutal Legend would be nice, as long as it's informative about the voice actors and musicians and such. It should definitely be subtitled because the music is such a huge part of the game.
Will somebody go and finish an LP of Bioshock already? We've already had one flake-out and one passive agressive implosion. Considering all the bickering that went on when simultaneous people had it 'reserved', you'd think somebody would actually have had the thing completed before the thread appeared for the sequel.
I'd like to see Ico done as a vlp...
I liked acountingnightmare's three DMC LP's and I think it would be cool if she did DMC4. Also requesting a FFXII LP and a Tales Of The Abyss LP
Lagrange Point' (ラグランジュポイント), is a very late (as in, released in 1991) Japanese-only RPG produced for the NES. This game is notable because Konami teamed up with readers of Family Computer Magazine (ファミリーコンピュータマガジン) to form a group, called 芸夢工房 (geimukoubou, art dream workshop), in order to make this game. The readers were permitted to design the characters, monsters, events, message-texts, music, the title-screen, and such. With enhanced sound for the NES due to Konami's VRC7 sound generator Integrated Circuit, the game is considered a masterpiece to many Japanese people.
The story is about a pilot, Jin (also known as Gin), who is exploring a biohazard outbreak at a space colony, linked to the disappearance of Dr. Stolte. He arrives, only for the spaceship to be attacked. The effect of the outbreak soon becomes clear.
...a Tales Of The Abyss LP
I really would enjoy the other two Donkey Kong Country games LP'ed I know Flare did DKC 2 but I've never managed to beat either 1 or 3 and I'd like to see the later levels especially DKC 3 on the GBA and its extra stage.
Requesting Charles Barkley: Shut Up And Jam Gaiden. It looks like someone started a thread and abandoned it at one point (which I can't read because I don't have archives) but it's possibly the best game ever made and I'm surprised nobody's done it to completion.
Tales of the Abyss LP
I'm gonna go ahead and request every single Tales game not LP'd yet.
This should be bannable.
The Tales series, I mean.
Not a fan then, Syrg?
So uh, I don't want to sound like a broken record, but is someone gonna jump on making an Alan Wake LP?
So uh, I don't want to sound like a broken record, but is someone gonna jump on making an Alan Wake LP?
They're JRPG cliche boiled down into an even more pure form of terrible writing incarnate.
can someone LP the stock market? i think it would be an interesting read!! buy and sell stocks each day, fight other investors tooth and nail for their pennystocks and marginal profits, that sort of thing

If we got anyone who can read Japanese, I'd love to see Lagrange Point.
Alright, fellows and fellowettes.
I really slacked off in keeping the master list updated, so i'm going to tackle that within the next couple of days.
Considering how many times the original has been LPd, I think it's surprising no one has done Deus Ex 2: Invisible War.
I would love to see a video or screenshot LP done of Nier. There's a good bit that could be done with it - if you've read the Drakengard LP, it would sort of be like that, with both action and insanity.
Dark Id has said before that he plans on doing Nier (the good one) in the near future, I think in the first page of his Chrono Cross thread he mentioned that a 360 RRoD prevented it from happening initially.
Great! Just one thing though, what do you mean by 'the good one'? Is there a significant difference between the two versions of Nier besides the main character?
NieR Replicant
Wow, sound like a concurrent lp of this would be entertaining.
Wow, sound like a concurrent lp of this would be entertaining.
I'm going to throw out a request for a video LP of Final Fantasy XII (PS2). I'm one of the few people who actually liked this game and I'd like to see it done justice. Or torn a new one. Whichever is funnier, honestly.

I'm going to third this, I was actually about to come in here and request it myself. I was actually thinking all last year about doing it myself, but I realized I probably don't have enough time to put any work into it unfortunately. Besides, no one wants to see a new asshole LP one of their favorite games.
I don't know if a video one would really work; most of the areas don't have too much story to them, and it's kinda boring just watching it play out.
Earth Defense Force 2017 for the xbox 360. Single player for main LP and then maybe some co-op videos for bonus content
I really think coop is the only way it would be all that entertaining. There are a lot of levels, and they're fairly repetitive.
A Minecraft VLP, maybe with multiple players simultaneously, or over time.
Creating something cool and explaining the workings of the game.

Jesus, I'm dense. First three times I read that, I thought you meant "Minesweeper LP? The hell? You're gonna make a few posts of planting flags and bombing out?"
Thought that would be pretty funny as a gag to slip into some other LP.
Anyhow, a game based predominantly around crafting might not make the best of LPs. You'd have to mix things up just right to be able to get the balance, and even then, I dunno.
I dunno...Minesweeper can be intense at times. I don't know about you guys, but how many of you have actually beaten it, let alone on expert? Minesweeper can be hard, especially when guesswork settles in on the higher difficulties. I have literally lost on the very last square because I had to make a 50-50 choice between two adjacent squares, and only one of them had a mine.
I remember one time the internet cut out at school and I was slacking off with one of my friends, so I turned to him and said "Minesweeper? I'll race you to be the first one to beat it on the easiest setting." We rushed through the game as quickly as we could. Both of us could beat the easiest setting under a minute easy (my best time was like twenty seconds) but because of the race aspect, it was like five minutes before one of us one actually completed a map.
Could make for a few amusing VLPs. I'm imagining three people playing Minesweeper all at once, trying to be the first one to actually beat the damn thing, trash talking each other the entire time. Heck, any of the "basic Windows games" could be pretty entertaining if you can get the right people to do it.
The game hasn't been (officially) released and the workings change whenever notch can tear himself away from the hookers and blow.
Jesus, I'm dense. First three times I read that, I thought you meant "Minesweeper LP? The hell? You're gonna make a few posts of planting flags and bombing out?"
Okay, Goons. Which square next?
TREASURE! WE SWEEP UP A TREASURE CHEST! Now we just need to stay alive through this so we can enjoy our new-found riches! Oh, but we haven't checked what is in the chest yet...I hope is not a trap chest that explode when we open it...I better put a flag on top of it just in case.
Okay, Goons. Which square next or should we open the chest now?
Edit: Sorry if it getting off topic.
Jak and Daxter LP anyone? Also requesting a Medievil and Super Mario Galaxy LP as well.
It's not on the LP Archive, but Galaxy was done. Don't have the link to the thread though.
Throwing in another vote for Nier, I don't have any current gen systems so I'd love to see the story.
I'd also like to see a serious LP of Mirror's Edge. Hbomb's was alright but I'm not a huge fan of the complainy, nitpicky commentary style and I think a more informational one could be really good.
He did two lps in the same thread. 1 was the nitpicky complainy type and the other was reserved and informational (and solo).
Did he post music credits at any time during the LP? I'd probably go buy an archive upgrade if he did.
A video LP would probably be better, that shows off the amazing atmosphere in the game better. But one of the most important things is to show off the music and VA work, I think.
http://www.viddler.com/explore/Breadmaster/videos/
As long as I'm here...
I am morbidly curious about the latest Dead To Rights: Retribution game. After that hilarious LP of the original game, I think a lot of us would like to know if there's anything to ironically enjoy about it. I've heard rumors that there's a giant robot somewhere in it, which seems ludicrous and/or awesome.
Thread is in the forum's archives, and Rirse said yesterday he's just getting around to archiving the thread because he never knew it finished.
http://www.viddler.com/explore/Breadmaster/videos/
As long as I'm here...
I meant to ask because I didn't actually notice until now and just assumed...but are you Breadmaster, who LPed Aquaria there, or are you simply linking me to it because it's basically exactly what I said I wanted in an LP of Aquaria?
He is not. Xander77 is well known as not being Breadmaster. I do recall Breadmaster stating something about that he was posting the videos in more than one place. I could be mistaken. (It was of course, posted in this subforum as well.)
It is a good Lp though, you should watch it.
I will, but I'd like to also be able to read the thread that went along with it, to read the comments and such, so I might hold off until it gets archived.
The thread itself had hardly any activity in it unfortunately. For the most part it was just the OP giving a constant stream of updates and general posts about the updates. The update posts themselves only ever had bonus content in the form of screen captures of the various cutscenes, not much else. You aren't missing out on much by viewing the videos but not the thread.
this happens way more often than it should, so i am going to point out that personal requests to forum user Khad can be directed directly to forum user Khad by posting in forum user Khad's official offsite forum, Let's Crosby (img http://img.waffleimages.com/8a191298b535719d204c7a12df40ddd02ddce9df/Crosby.png)
Looking through the complete list of Let's plays I saw no one has done Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero
This is without a doubt the worst side scroller of the PS1 era. That and you have to beat the game on the hardest difficulty to even get past halfway through the game. I would kill to see this done.
FEAR 2
Boon's FEAR + Expansions subtitled VLP, is still one of the best I've seen.
Might as well request this considering I'll never get around to trying it myself, I'd like to see an LP of Liberal Crime Squad.
With the games many options I'd think it'd make a great user participation LP, interested in seeing how people would want it played.
I think this has been tried several times, and it always ended up being abandoned.
Evening ladies,
I'm a big jerk that can't commit to anything. Saying that, i'm going over the list and all that right now.
Edit: While i'm here, I need an opinion: While alphabetical order is neat, would a sorting by console be preferred or is it fine the way it is right now (noting the available consoles by each game)?
Requesting inFAMOUS for the PS3.
Maxwell Adams did Prototype and I dicked with it for a bit as well, but apparentely inFAMOUS is that much better than Prototype was. (story, graphics, characters, etc). And who doesn't want more sandbox, superhero games.
I bought Archives just to read LPs of The Haunting and Eternal Darkness and found that the first was abandoned and the OP for the second links to dead videos. I would love to see both of these games done in a SubVLP style (for some reason VoidBurger jumps out at me when I think of that style but I know she's busy with her Silent Hill series threads) especially for the chase scenes in The Haunting. If someone could do these I would jump out of my chair in excitement.
The goon who did the Eternal Darkness LP deleted the videos a while back because she said she didn't like them. I don't know why.
There was some drama because the first video was retsupuraed. It's rp can be found in part 1 and part 2. She eventually made an apology for the video and requested a ban.
ssskinner got rid of her videos too - I'm not sure what happened there, as I looked up the lp a month ago wanting to watch it but no luck.
There was some drama concerning her thinking people on LP were stalking her or something and she removed a lot of her videos.
There's more to it than that, that's just the gist of it.
Streets of SimCity along with SimCopter.
I remember this. In the cold light of day, they were terrible, but the adverts were hilarious. I really can't say whether they could be LPed successfully. Some sort of SC2K universe LP might be interesting.
I've recently got hooked on Luisfe's SMT lps and I would love to see him lp Digital Devil Saga 2 and Devil Survivor
He did LP DDS2.
But I'd rather see Strange Journey than Devil Survivor.
He did LP DDS2.
But I'd rather see Strange Journey than Devil Survivor.
Instead of screenshots, you'd have to draw each screen on a napkin. That is the price of Devil Survivor's auto-map.
I've recently got hooked on Luisfe's SMT lps and I would love to see him lp Digital Devil Saga 2 and Devil Survivor
Erm... Devil Survivor doesn't have an auto-map. Unless you're talking about Strange Journey, in which case, I see where you're going with that.
I don't even know how many people played this, but I remember it very vaguely from when I was much younger, Streets of SimCity along with SimCopter. I have no idea at all how well a let's play of either game would work, or if it would even be record-able and playable on modern hardware. I do remember both had some kind of map editor, but I don't remember how much non-free form "story line" like missions either had. If there was a large lack of those then ignore this. Otherwise I'm just wondering if anyone else remembers either game, and perhaps it would make a decent lp. Or perhaps not.
Requesting Baten Kaitos the 1st the game, Blue Dragon, ratchet and clank, threads of fate, crash team racing, medievil and any naruto game because why the heck not?
Here's Simcopter. It's not a great LP but it has its shining moments. Also I love this game to death so it gives me rose tinted glasses.
Also the map editor was Simcity 2000 any city you built you could play in Simcopter or Streets of Simcity.

I have no idea how easy it is to find Saturn emulators, but I'd love to see an LP of Nights. I played it at a friend's house once, and it seemed fun, but I don't really know anything else about it.
Does anyone know if the Wii version of Nights is significantly different? That might be a more readily available option.
Does anyone know if the Wii version of Nights is significantly different? That might be a more readily available option.
Why hasn't anybody LP'd necrovision. Jesus, that game...
Police quest series
After talking about it in the space quest thread I have to see it and all the stupid deaths you can get in it.
I'd like to put up a request for a VLP of Warzone 2100 since it's a nice game and no one else has put it on the list.
It's a wonderful game with a lot of atmosphere and a fitting soundtrack of the time (It is from 1999) plus a truly antagonizing villain!
It was released for the PC and the PS1.
Another request for Final Fantasy XII. My favorite Final Fantasy since 6, and I think a lot of people skipped over this one for whatever reason and people should see it's not a bad game, and there's so much fun extra stuff to do.
Seconding whoever requested Baroque. I would like to like that game, but it makes me feel sick like no other game besides Clayfighter did. I don't know why.
I would like to know what the hell happens after the first few deaths, damnit.
I would like it if someone would LP Lifeline, a microphone-controlled survival horror game for the PS2. There's a Youtube LP but it blows. It's quite unique and it's got that awesome voice acting and story that typifies the genre so it should be funny.
I did most of a stream of it, aside from the plague of technical problems at the end. The problem is that I don't think there's a format that would work for a proper LP. Due to the requirement to provide voice commands, voice commentary is all but impossible, and I just can't picture Lifeline with subtitles. It really requires something like a stream to be at all interesting.
I guess you didn't do recordings of this stream? Rats. I would just like to see a video LP with one person focusing on giving orders and another focusing on doing commentary.
Wouldn't Lifeline work more as a post-commentary sort of deal, like recording it after the fact? I mean I played that Lifeline demo and I really don't think anyone would like to hear "left eye! left eye! run! run! use item! door! take a shower! tail! tail!" or whatever for like 20 videos.
I know theres already screenshot LPs of fallout and fallout 2, but id really like to see video LPs of them.
I did recordings of what I could... My upstream was having severe issues by the end of the game.
I thought the fact that the only person who knew anything about the game not being able to commentate half the time was hilarious, but maybe that was just me.
Hbomb did a speedrun of the first game in the fallout 3 thread, thats likely all you are going to get since the game doesn't lend itself well to video. It could be done, but it would require someone with a crazy amount of knowledge of the game playing it who could minimize downtime.
I'd watch it too if one like that came up.
That and the text is so goddamned small it would require way too much editing.
Going to put in a request for a VLP of all the Fable series. I know the third one is currently under the 3 months rule, but even if it gets started now (haha) by the time someone goes through the first 2 games the third should be okay.
I hate the controls, and they're not reprogrammable, so I can't even use my generic USB gamepad. I hate the PC controls so bad that I haven't even made it out of all the tutorial stuff yet.
Edit: If I want to restart an LP I started, can I get the old thread un-archived? Or do I just have to start a new thread? I figure I'll probably record all the gameplay before I start posting either way.
I've recently gotten addicted to Beat Hazard, and I'd be willing to watch an LP of that. Preferably if it's one where a bunch of different people pitch in with different videos instead of just one or two people taking requests.

Is any one planning on LPing Dead to Rights: Retribution? Slowbeef did a pretty good job on the first one.
Anyone ever thought of doing Yoshi Story? It's a pretty good platformer with some cool art in it, and no one seems to remember it. Either a casual or super skilled 100% run would work fine.
Here's a video:

Future Cop L.A.P.D., also for the PS1.
You might be pleased to know I have this planned, I'm trying to work out a sound issue where none of the voices or music play while recording (I'm using the PC version).
I'd love to see a let's play of an old PS1 game called G Police. I remember it was always so much fun to just to play around in as a kid, and I'd love to see someone who was actually good at it.
Someone please do Nier. The story seems pretty interesting and the music is awesome.
The Dark Id said he will possibly get in to it in the near future (if his schedule works out nicely) (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/emot-v.gif)
I'm wondering could someone maybe LP Dragon Age: Origins? Cause I'm curious as to how their play style would be
Longest, most challenging LP ever.
The problem with Dragon Age is that there are long stretches of voice-acted dialogue followed by longer stretches of killing monsters in groups of four or five in brown hallways.
Well, if someone was willing to take on Clive Barker's Jericho...
Well, if someone was willing to take on Clive Barker's Jericho...
Well Coulis did. link here.
The problem with Dragon Age is that there are long stretches of voice-acted dialogue followed by longer stretches of killing monsters in groups of four or five in brown hallways. You might want to provide videos for the dialogue and cutscenes and screenshots for the massive amount of filler the game provides for you. Doing the entire game in only one format or the other would make it difficult for someone unfamiliar with the game to follow.
I'd quite like to see Ultimas I-III. They sound insane compared to the relatively sober later games and the story of a fantasy game in which evil computers are defeated and space princesses saved would be awesome to experience.
Not sure about style: Nakar's threads were amazing and ridiculous but I'm not certain it'd work so well for the earlier games. Maybe a fairly straight play-through? If the games can be broken like the later ones that'd be good to see too...

I think no one outside youtube ever contemplated doing an Ultima VIII LP (mostly jumping from VII to the awful IX), but I'd love to see one. Mostly because it's... uh, the only Ultima game I ever played. (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-blush.gif)
I remember Yoshi's Story for sure, one of my favorite games and one I probably would be LPing if my computer could handle it.
Yoshi's Story would make for a good LP, but the problem might be in getting all the levels out. Would the LPer just play every level in order or just let the audience decide which of the 4 worlds to go next?
I noticed Chrono Cross on the list of unfulfilled requests... but The Dark Id already finished his LP of the game.
That's because Terror Van only ever comes to this thread to say how sorry he is that he hasn't been updating.
I went through this thread and didn't see it requested, so I'm asking for Metroid: Other M to be done. I love me some Metroid, but I don't own a Wii, and I don't forsee being able to buy one for quite some time. It's outside of the three month rule. Thanks.
Slowbeef has basically said he has this planned
though be warned, he does absolutely hate the game.
Metroid: Other M... the sheer dissonance between the awesome gameplay and abysmal storyline.

I don't know if I want it now...
I didn't see this requested, so I'm gonna request Super Mario Sunshine. I never ended up playing it, and I understand that it's sort of the low point in the series so I figured it would be cool to see done by someone who knew it well enough to be good at it. Plus it has good music!
Sweet Home for the NES.
I would love you forever.
If I recall, Miketopus did an LP of this fairly recently. Sadly, you need the archives to view the thread and I don't believe it's been archived yet: http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh...hreadid=3288208
I am seconding a Metroid: Other M let's play. It will be interesting to see people reacting to the sheer dissonance between the awesome gameplay and abysmal storyline.
Volition's Summoner & Summoner 2 (Summon... Harder? (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-hurr.gif) ).
By The Man With A Hat? Technical/RL issues.
I looked up Solium Infirnum for a few minutes and what I see interests me, but weren't you going to do an LP of that Eastern Front game by the same people who made War in the Pacific, or did it just get mentioned briefly?
Either way, this is an LP that I would like to see happen.
I'm thinking of running a Multiplater Solium Infirnum LP - I've mentioned it in my other threads a couple of times, but I think this may be a better place to get this off the ground.I have 2 people teniously interested, so with 3 more players, I could make this a goer.
The basic premise is to play out the game, with each player taking the part of one of the seven deadly sins, with me also doing Sloth as a none player (seriously, who wants to take sloth as a objective with its downside.
Once the game is done, we then put our updates together and release on a regular schedule. this si because SI is a game of information, and any as we go updates would give the other players an advantage.
Of course, this is all up in the air, and would be finalized by the participents.
Is anyone interested in taking part/reading something like this - I doesn't matter if your a great player or not, as long as your willing/able to write some entertaining updates and backstab everyone possible.

This probably belongs in the sandcastle, it being general LP discussion.
But it's too similar to an interest check (which explicitly do not belong in the sandcastle), so it's probably best that he posted it here.
I'd really like to see someone play Captain Blood on the Atari ST.
(img http://i.imgur.com/dFAD1.gif) (img http://i.imgur.com/XuOwO.gif)
This is one of those games that I read about ten years ago on HOTU, and it sounds, looks, and plays like one of those tripped-out mind fucks that game programmers occasionally inflict on the public.
It's one of the best game ever created for the atari ST. It's not really that (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-lsd.gif) you just have to read the manual carefully.
If you want something more "user-friendly", check the sequel Big Bug Bang http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELmkRgH98m4
Unfortunately, I think it's only came out in France.
Arc 2 was being worked on but tech issues killed the LP. I might do it someday.
When you say "sequel" you're thinking Commander Blood. Captain Blood was the original, Commander was the second (sort of... no real connection, but similar in ways/designers) and BBB was Commander's sequel, French only. Both Commanders have fantastic music.

I have all the files from before and am playing through the rest slowly. I will finish every project on my plate in 2011. Toxx me on this.
Well, it's decided. I'd like to do my first video LP with commentary for the PS1 game Rising Zan: The Samurai Gunman. I'm going to get started on a draft of my thread and get my computer set up for recording today. I will post here with a link to the thread once it's up!
I would like to make a request for either Final Fantasy XII or X-2. I don't know how to make a request like this without looking like a complete jackass, but these are my picks for possible LP's.
X-2
Final Fantasy X-2.
I'm going to put in a request for Lost Odyssey for the 360. It has a very good plot, and all of the characters are interesting (Well, except for maybe two).
SSLP would be preferred but not required.
I think a hybrid approach would work better - the day to day play would be best in screenshots, but the memories would lose some of their impact without the full multimedia experience, and iirc there are some cool CG cutscenes.
FFX-2
Oh man, Batman Vengeance is so bad at times, though. Good luck to whatever brave soul picks that one up.
I think the game would work best as a VLP with heavy, heavy editing on anything that isn't a cutscene or a boss fight. Just cut to the interesting bits, almost like a SSLP in video form, in a way.
As I have started playing and quite like it I would like to request an LP of White Knight Chronicles for PS3
I noticed Chrono Cross on the list of unfulfilled requests... but The Dark Id already finished his LP of the game.
Also, I officially request Grandia 1 for the PSX
Also, I updated.
Might want to recheck the thread, then. You missed some requests on the list.
EDIT: And yes, I do miss games when skimming over all the posts I needed to catch up on. I'm a horrible jerk that can't do a perfect job of something I volunteered to do.
Name: King's Field IV, the Lost City
System: PS2
Style: Video
King's Field IV is the PS2 entry into the series. It's an atmospheric first person RPG, with gameplay that heavily resembles a metroidvania. It has great music, really awesome set-pieces, and legitimately fun gameplay (although in my playthrough of half the game I missed an important extra item, it's not exactly forgiving). It seems like it would lend itself to being broken up into difference video segments.
It seems like there is a (really bad) LP on Youtube with the guy videotaping his TV, scanlines and all:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia4jf6LGQuM
Seems like someone here could do a better job with it though.
Adding Perihelion? (Amiga, Screenshot)
Someone needs to do Darksiders because it's an awesome game. Preferably someone with an HD capture card.
Anyway I'd like to see Medievil be done, used to play that at my friend's loads when I was a kid but never got to finish it and don't remember much now
It would be nice if someone could finish Syndicate and Syndicate Wars! Probably in a Hybrid LP for nice screens and fun explosive videos when we get to Syndicate Wars.
I'm a sucker for old goodies like those two. (Too bad Bullfrog got gulped up by the creative black hole that is EA...DAMN YOU EA, DAMN YOU TO HELL!!(img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-argh.gif) )

Putting in a request for a hybrid LP of Cross Edge, a JRPG for the PS3.
It's balls-out difficult at times, as is Compile Heart's wont to make their games, and is a collaboration between five different game companies with Compile Heart heading up programming (Idea Factory, Capcom, NIS, Gust, and Namco-Bandai). It's overall a fairly interesting game, minus a few snags (excessive backtracking, the aforementioned hard-as-hell difficulty, and more JAPAN! than you can shake a stick at).
I would like this game to be LP'd because I doubt many people have seen the true ending of this game, because of a combination of the high difficulty and the insanely large plethora of requirements that make following a guide all but mandatory.
This game was released on 5/26/2009 in the US.
I'd like to request Valkyrie Prifile: Lenneth for the PSX and PSP. I'm pretty sure screenshot or some kind of mostly screenshot hybrid would work best, but I'm not super sure. Pure video might work ok as well. It's basically a game about building the best army possible for the fight at the end of the world, and it's very open ended.
I'm currently sort of mulling over doing a primarily video LP of Syndicate Wars (though probably wouldn't happen for a while since I'm signed up for three Wing Commander games when ivantod gets to the end of 2). It has the major prerequisite of me actually being able to finish the game, which I'm working on.
What do you mean by hybrid? I was thinking probably videos for the missions, screenshots with transcribed text for research and briefings. Maybe let the thread vote on weapons loadouts, research priorities and mods, but also maybe not depending on how good at the game I get.
Recanting a request of mine that Terror Van missed because he is both negligent and a horrible person in general.
But if you're recanting it, wouldn't that make it a good thing Terror Van missed it? In any case, it means less work for him now.
Recanting- Resubmitting god damn it - a request of mine that Terror Van missed because he is both negligent and a horrible person in general.
You can check off Cyberia 1 from the list. I've been doing a play of the game in the Short Game Theatre III thread. Spec it.
I have no intention of doing Cyberia 2. I don't own it and I don't plan on getting it just to make videos of me playing it.
I'd love to see a detailed VLP of the Resident Evil remake that came out on the Gamecube. I've heard it's really good and simply never had a chance to work through it.
I would like to request a LP of Mechwarrior 2 and the wonderful expansions!
I have personally considered doing this (or maybe Mech3), but I don't know if a Sub-VLP (which is my only option) would work for this one. Sure, it's a simulation game, but it is still an action game. That, and I can't get DosBox to like it.
I'd love to see a detailed VLP of the Resident Evil remake that came out on the Gamecube. I've heard it's really good and simply never had a chance to work through it.
Requesting a Let's Play of Left Behind: Eternal Forces. There's one in the master list but it appears to have been abandoned.
I would like to request this be completed before the 21st of May this year, for obvious reasons (Praise the Lord).
Left Behind: Eternal Forces
Reading up on Left Behind, the game seems absolutely hilarious both on its own merits and because of how completely insane the developers were (sending cease and desist orders to blogs that made fun of the game, trying to ship copies to soldiers in "Freedom Packets", attributing the poor sales to a "smear campaign" by the Tides Center, announcing a "free giveaway" of the game where you could download it for "free" if you paid $5, etc). If I can find a good way to play and record the game on my mac and can make it entertaining I'm definitely considering trying this. If not, consider me thirding the request.
I've been entertaining the idea of LPing Medievil for some time, but it's probably not gonna be on my schedule for quite a while, (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/frown.gif) I'd love to see Medievil LP'd, too.
I'd also like to put Medievil 2 as a request, since I never got to finish it because (a) I was astoundingly bad at what I believe is the final level and (b) the game froze up on me in there, so I took that as I sign to quit while I was ahead.
I'd like to request an LP of Unlimited Saga for the PS2. I've always had a soft spot for the Saga series, but this game was known for its infamous 'reel system', opaque difficulty, and 'Birds! Birds!'. I think a VLP would be great given one of the best things about this game was the music, but it's also text heavy. I'm just curious how the game panned out. Cheers to anyone brave enough.
I didn't see it in the master list anywhere, but would someone ever want to do a Vagrant Story LP? I'd really love to see one.
I haven't ever played it, but apparently it's supposed to be a really challenging but rewarding experience with a fairly good story.
Vagrant Story
It's already in the list of requests.
I request Slowbeef and the Beetus do Vanquish. The awful plot, cheesy dialog, and fast-paced shooting gameplay demand their commentary.
I request that somebody lp Skies of Arcadia or Skies of Arcadia Legends, as I've no way to play it but have heard good things about it.
I think someone was planning to do Legends, but still seconding this because I love those games.
Terror Van, you might not have noticed but a few games on that Unfulfilled Request List have now been done. Alan Wake, Perfect Dark, and Yume Nikki have all been completed from the (quite extensive) list.
While I'm here, I'll just note that more than 3 months have passed since Dead Rising 2's release date... Oatmeal Raisin around here anywhere? (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Technical issues.
Ah shoot, so you're already working on one? I was wanting to take a crack at it, just haven't gotten up the courage to sandcastle my videos yet, but there may be some unwritten LP consistency law in place here that dictates your continuation of the series.

There's no rule in letter or in spirit that would stop you. I mean shit, how many Majora's Mask LPs have been done by now? It's not even like there's a rule against multiple threads going at the same time, but people will probably start getting a bit dickish to whoever starts second (this doesn't matter in the least)
Yes and no. Just because people want to see Oatmeal Raisin do it doesn't mean they won't want to see you do it too. You just have to expect that (dumb) people will try to make comparisons and you'll need to shrug it off. (Though of course don't shrug off actual constructive criticism.)

That's fair, I'll probably sandcastle it soon, the only reason I've been hesitating is because I'm nervous about the format of it for DR2- but if it doesn't go over, I suppose I'll just re-appropriate it to some other game.
Just seems like if we were doing them simultaneously that there'd be a more natural bias to yours since you LP'd the previous game, which is understandable, since you did a good job with that one- it's just harder to get away with that kind of thing on more recent games than classics like Majora's Mask where the freshness isn't on peoples' minds as much and it allows the LPer to display their own styles on something familiar. Certainly became a bit trying in the case of Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
Requesting a video let's play of Primal on the PS2, the atmosphere of the game always made me think about Legacy of Kain. A young gothic girl is teleported in a weird demonish world, she become some sort of a hybrid human/demon girl and she has a Gargoyle companion. I remember that their relationship was really witty and that the Gargoyle always sounded sarcastic and bipolar.
Seconding this. I played it way back when and enjoyed the atmosphere and acting, but couldn't get very far in it do to the bad controls and level design.
Also, has anyone ever LP'd any of the Way of the Samurai games?
That would be me. I don't think there's a good way to run it on a mac even through Wine
Since I mentioned this in another thread, a request for the Star Trek: 25th Anniversary adventure game. Specifically the CD-ROM version of the PC version.
If anyone is up to it, I would love to see an LP of Jak 2 for the Playstation 2. It is by far one of my favorite games of all time and I've checked the Master list and it appears as if no one has even ATTEMPTED to LP it. Video would be the best for this game I believe with voiced commentary. Otherwise, blind or thousandth time playing it is fine with me. I'd love to see this, so if anybody doesn't have any ideas for future LPs, I think this would make a good one. Thanks.
While I'm not entirely sure if there'd be much of an audience for it, I'd love to see someone do an LP of one of the Heroes of Might and Magic games. Given that the playable campaigns in those games are mostly text-based, a screenshot style would probably be best.
I am seconding this. I am also making a more specific recommendation that an LP of Heroes of Might and Magic III be done. It is probably the best game in the entire series.
If they had the capability to, I think it would be fantastic if someone LPed Captain Rainbow. But I guess that isn't likely until they finish that translation patch.
Super Meat Boy, PC, Video
...ultra-skilled run for the benefit of those who have played it themselves.
Indeed. I prefer the "style" of HoMM II, but III is definitely the superior game. There have been four separate attempts at an LP of HoMM III, all abandoned before conclusion. The game really is not that thrilling in singleplayer, but I suspect a multiplayer LP (somewhat akin to the Dominions 3 LPs) would be interesting. If we could drum up some interest I would gladly participate in that, and the game is on Good Old Games with all expansions for under (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/emot-10bux.gif) too if anyone wants in.
I would be down to participate in this, assuming the style would be goons going head-to-head and taunting one another over voicechat as we dick each other over.
This is basicly what I'm looking for.
Super Meat Boy, PC, Video
Been toiling with this game for awhile. Would be nice to see someone who is really good completing all the levels.
(IIRC it was Zorak?).
I Finished watching Slowbeef & Diabetus's Video LP of Snatcher a few months back, and it made me want more. So I would like to request Policenauts.
Another great thing, the English patch was revived and finished by a Goon (IIRC it was Zorak?).
No actually it was Slowbeef.
Dynasty Tactics 1 & 2 (primarily 2), for the PlayStation 2.
I can't find a Let's Play of it anywhere. Of course, I'd appreciate any Koei strategy games being played, but I'm curious as to how things are played out in DT, since there's a different level of strategy in that game than most of theirs.
I would ask for a VLP, but at the very least I want a hybrid LP of screenshots with videos of battles.
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - PC; Video
Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat (or the sequel, Dark Omen)
Requesting Darkest of Days for the PC. The trailers showed promise, but ultimately the game amounted to diddly squat.
You didn't even pretend to look for this, dickass.
I think Batman: Arkham Asylum has to be worth a request here. I just finished it and damn is this one fine piece of video-gaming. Action/stealth/detectiving. What more could you ask for? Plus, you're fucking Batman.
It's a PC/Xbox/PS3 joint, so whichever would obviously be suitable, but this definitely deserves a video LP with lots of the secrets shown.
I possess neither video capture stuff, nor talent. And my voice sucks.
I'm considering doing an LP of Arkham Asylum after I finish my current one.
Unfortunately, I'm not big on the exploration and secrets aspects of the game. I mostly scorewhore the fuck out of the combat aspects of the game.
I might also try my hand at the Sega Master System Megathread request since I finally got Fraps to capture SMS footage properly. I was thinking of playing through the entire library (yes, including Japanese and Brazilian titles) more or less blind. If there is any interest I will try and set up a live stream, so people can watch me fail horribly at 8-bit games.
Mortal Kombat: Mythologies Sub-Zero
This game is God awful but I would love to see someone with the skills to get through this turd on hard because you can only get the real ending beating it that way and I'm nowhere near good enough to beat it on anything but easy. Preferably video just to show how bad the controls are.
I'd be interested in this, I think the Master System library is reasonably sized enough to the point where it's doable, plus there's a lot of bizarre stuff mixed in there so I imagine it'd be pretty entertaining.
Roughly 420 games, since I will be doing the SG-1000 titles too. There are duplicates among those 420, so I will likely only do the English language versions of those. But yes, plenty of bizarre games to be had, especially among the Brazilian ones.
inthesto, it would be a shame for the viewers to miss out on the secrets in Batman: AA. If you want we could cooperate, with you playing through the game focusing on the combat and me doing a series of secrets/collectibles videos, one for each area.

Sounds like a good idea. Let me know how to keep in touch with you, since this is something that's not gonna come down the pipeline for a while - I'm still only halfway through my current LP and my computer just broken down on me (and I don't get paid for another two weeks).
Policenauts video LP request
I haven't seen a request for Darksiders go up, nor have I seen any attempts of it. It's another major 3 game (pc/xbox/ps3) and it's pretty ripe for an LP.
Think Legend of Zelda meets God of War if you haven't heard of it. It's a hell of a lot of fun, if a bit simple. Decent voice acting too.
It and Batman are things I'm actually considering myself, but I have to take the time to get vid-cap shit together and come up with a plan. In short don't count on me, but I'd love to help if anyone puts either together.
There's been at least three test posts for it in the Sandcastle and Ambisagrus seems dead set on doing it after he finishes up Majora's Mask.
Genesia/Ultimate Domain (and for the love of God, do the hi-res edition).
Populous meets Setlers meets blender. I'd love it if someone'd spin a story around that, in the vein of Civ4 LP-lite, or at least presented the game as a coherent whole, with the little features many people are sure to miss (like is the full tech tree explained anywhere?)

We should really just make a "Let's All Play Darksiders Megathread" and have like five simultaneous Let's Plays of that game, just to get it out of everyone's system.
Can someone just do Tonic Trouble already and get it over with?
Speaking as someone who may or may not be putting up one of those 3 Darksiders LPs next week, there's really no harm in multiple people doing it. Keep in mind there's no rule against it and giving people options is always nice.
Ambisagrus was streaming it the other day and said he was considering it, but towards the end he didn't sound so enthusiastic.
I'm surprised no one's done Resident Evil 5 yet to be honest. It's gets a lot of flak for being very similar to RE4 except with the gimmick partner system, but it's still a solid game that's fun for it's sheer tongue-and-cheek factor.
I guess I'll offer to help out if someone wants to do it but needs a partner - cause I do have all the DLC and have played to death on my PS3. I have no way to record or I'd do it myself.
RChimp Cola did this for the co-op thread, but I think you'll need archives to see it.
Ah, I see. Damn.
The videos are also listed here, just CTRL+F Resident Evil. Although I totally recommend getting archives.\
They dont appear to be in order on this list though so good luck.

I hope that it's just a matter of time before The Dark Id gets to that one, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.
I wouldn't mind an LP of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.
I'd like to see an LP of Drakengard 2.
Does anyone know what happened to SeriousSirrus and his possible run of Riven?
You know, a while ago, someone proposed playing Shitty RPGMaker Games. This guy's test post really caught my interest, but I don't think it ever got followed through with.
So what I'm saying is I'd probably enjoy Regis is Their King?!: Let's Play Shitty RPGMaker Games (Regis is Latin for King)

Putting in a request for a VLP of Super Mario Galaxy/Super Mario Galaxy 2. I wanted to get SMG when I had a Wii and it never worked out, and I've heard that they're quite interesting games.
Interesting to play, perhaps, but not really interesting to watch. Someone (Sartak? It's not in the Master List) tried to do a straight LP of it a few years ago and got burned out about halfway through.
Yes, it was Sartak that attempted Super Mario Galaxy. The main reason he got burned out was because he thought he could get by with just doing 1 star per video per day. Of course that ended up being a lot more work than it should have been, especially for short stars and you still have to do all the editing, transcoding and uploading. If he had at least done multiple stars per video, that would be have been a big improvement. And he didn't get halfway through, it was more like around 39 stars.
On that note, I'd like to see someone actually do a skilled LP of Super Mario Sunshine. Prerecorded commentary is good, but live would be even better if it could be pulled off.

Just remembered, I am supposed to make a post here to link to a thread that answers a request, right?
Sega Master System Megathread can be found here. I am not sure who requested it in the first place, but I hope it lives up to your expectations.
Did Quovak ever resolve the technical issues preventing him from doing an LP of Left Behind: Eternal Forces? Because I am really looking forward to seeing that in all of its terrible glory. If he is still having issues, then I am renewing the request for that game.
Not really. The technical issues were more "Find a way to do this on a mac", which were "resolved" by realizing I can't do it on a mac. I still really want to do it myself, and will hopefully be able to someday find consistent access to a PC with which to do it, but if somebody else wants to tackle it and can actually do it within the next month or two then by all means don't wait for me.
Dude seriously I told you the solution once in this thread already, albeit vaguely: use BootCamp, which comes with OSX, to partition your drive to install Windows on it. You'll need an install DVD, not a CD, because that's the only medium BootCamp will work with.
This is super-easy and if you use, what, XP, your Windows-using buddies will probably be more than happy to lend you their installers and reg keys. Otherwise, it's two "generations" old, you can pick that shit up cheap.
I mean unless by "Mac" you mean "PowerPC," but unless you've been living under a rock for the past eight years, you shouldn't.
Does anyone know what happened to TheManWithTheHat's LP of Batman: Arkham Asylum?

Icedude did a pretty good LP of Sunshine a few years ago, here is the first video.
I would really like to see an LP of Halo Custom Edition. now you may be asking, "what is Halo Custom Edition?" well Halo Custom Edition is a free standalone add-on for Halo PC which allows you to create custom maps. what would I really to like to see is someone LP the single player mod CMT SPv2, as it offers more content than the original Halo.
Has anyone done a LP of Dragon Age: Origins yet? I just finished II and would like to see the first one.
Has anyone done a LP of Dragon Age: Origins yet? I just finished II and would like to see the first one.
I'd like to see a voiced LP of the first Crysis. I was never able to finish it but the sequel seems interesting so it'd be nice to catch up.
I would love to see a Bart Simpson vs. the Space Mutants LP.
Seeing all those Ogre Battle Saga games' LP, I would like some-one to LP The March of the Black Queen and the original Let Us Cling Together - I played both of them, but I am greatly lacking in skill in those games, only being able to cheese my way through, and I still do not understand game mechanics fully, but seeing someone who knows his way around the games would be great and a completely new experience.
Even though everyone's played the game, I would love to see an FFVII LP done. There's quite a few things in that game I never did (like the more time-consuming sidequests) and there's a lot of little things I probably missed out story-wise too.
I actually might do it myself in the future should no one take it.
I've recently been thinking about trying to start a succession game of FFVII. Play it on an emulator and pass the save around. Each LPer gets a week to play up to 5 hours of the game and document it - SSLP, VLP or hybrid, it's up to them. No-one is forced to stick to another LPers playstyle, format or opinion of the game - they can love it or trash it, know everything about it or practically be playing blind. So long as they don't intentionally sabotage the LP and stick to minimum quality standards for the subforum, they can do it as they like.
I think it might be interesting to see a variety of LPing styles in one thread, and an awful lot of people have played FFVII so I don't think the thread would be hurting for volunteers.
Why not just play the PC version?
I figured more people would have PS1 versions than PC versions, and from what I've heard and seen the PC version has inferior music and may have compatibility issues with modern PCs.

This sounds like a terrible idea. I'm in.
This sounds like a terrible idea. I'm in.
Aw, I was thinking of doing FFVII, with the gimmick being massive abuse of the Enemy Skills materia.
The last time I played through FFVII, I managed to accidentally kill the final boss. I had been holding off to see Super Nova.
FFVII-Ariety Level 17: Return Of Genloa
I mentioned this in the LP Recommendation thread, but I'm gonna subVLP Silent Hill 2 after Shattered Memories is done (it's getting posted in early-mid April.) So you have a little while to wait for mine.
(I highly suggest playing it though! Play it on Easy, c'monnnn (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/smile.gif) )
Yup, could very easily be terrible, but may be worth a shot. Maybe I'll make a test post after my current LP is finished.
Slew of LPs I missed
It looks goofy as hell and I think it would be a lot of fun to watch
I'd like to see Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes played in video format. It looks goofy as hell and I think it would be a lot of fun to watch
A succession FF7 LP sounds like it could be the most hilariously bad thing ever. I might actually be tempted to lend a hand in that endeavor, as I've been playing through it again recently.
Well, I know I'm probably gonna get some shit for this, but I unironically love the series so...
I'd like to see a screenshot LP of the .Hack// PS2 series, both the original four and the three GU games. Mostly screenshot, as I said, but there are some things that should probably be shown on video (more in GU than the first set though). I think a first-person narrative/blog entry style would work well, and since it is a game-within-a-game, in-character mechanics explanations wouldn't be out of place either.
I'd second this, actually. I really like the -concept- of the .Hack games, was intrigued by the plot, and enjoyed the .Hack//SIGN anime, but I simply could not take the gameplay, which was all the drudgery and grind of a real MMO without the grouping, interesting game mechanics, compelling class design, or exploration that make me actually enjoy them.

the skill/spell names are incredibly obtuse and hard to remember what each one does
After acclimating to spell names from games like PSO, .hack//games were positively common sense! Which is saying absolutely nothing.
What is it with JRPG's and having really incredibly dumb names for spells? I get that it's for world-building purposes, but seriously. Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest aren't too bad (cure/heal, cura/midheal, etc), but I do remember Phantasy Star being bad too.
If you think that's bad, you should try the Persona series some time. (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-psyduck.gif)
SMT games have a pretty standard naming format once you get used to them, though. Agi in the spell name always means Fire, Dia is always Heal, Mudo/Hama means Get Ready To Throw Your Controller In Anger.

What exactly is the point of doing FFVII as a succession LP? Everyone is gonna wanna do Midgar and no one is going to want to do the part directly after (With Cloud's story and all that). One person can do the whole thing. It isn't that hard.

Nobody's even tried in the two years I've been here, and no attempts are listed on the master list.
What happens when people flake out? How about if someone does a really crummy job? How do we decide how far each person goes on their run? Is it one update per person and then we just go in a sort of roulette? Some things to think about before going through with it.
SMT games have a pretty standard naming format once you get used to them, though. Agi in the spell name always means Fire, Dia is always Heal, Mudo/Hama means Get Ready To Throw Your Controller In Anger.
Hey, I was just playing though the Supreme Commander series and I realized, I really kind of suck at this game. I'd like to see it played by someone who actually knows what they're doing.
I know what you mean and would like to see it played exceedingly competently too, but the thing is the game is both so slow paced and long that it'd be pretty close to impossible without editing out half if not more of a level. On top of that the single player of the base game is basically not worth showing. The expansion is a bit more interesting but suffers since it's the same six level for all three factions.
I pretty much don't know how it would be done, but would like to see someone try too.
I personally want to see a video LP of FF7 with a lot of guest commentators. Like, at least seven at once. Also, it has to be a perfect game and there would be no editing things out, so there would just be like five or six videos of grinding to buy 99 Iron Bangles at the beginning of the game, with people insulting the person playing the entire time.
My brilliant idea was to do this alongside a narrative screenshot LP of Super Mario World.
... No One Lives Forever, most of the videos were missing, ...

I would love to see a video LP of Just Cause or Just Cause 2. Any system would be okay. I tried Just Cause once and really liked it for some reason. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to finish it. Drakkel tried to LP it once but that was abandoned. I've heard Just Cause 2 is much better as well. Either one as an LP would be awesome.
Just Cause 2 is pretty much the most fun you can ever have in a videogame, so yeah an LP of it would just be hilarious and awesome.
I really wouldn't have an issue with an LP of Just Cause 2 that is purely just dicking around. There's a ridiculous amount of things you can do in the world just for fun.
Well...
1) The concept of the thread interests me. I don't know if this kind of community LP has been done much before outside of sandbox stuff like Dwarf Fortress. A succession FF7 LP would naturally be a very, very different beast from a DF LP of course.
Hey, nobody's LP'd Far Cry!
...or Far Cry 2. I tried to play that game but I would up just burning herds of zebras with molotovs; it would be nice to see what the actual ending is
I've never gotten to finish Far Cry 2. I'd also be interested to know what the game's proper ending is, but I think you'd need to do the thread either with heavy editing or with very good commentary to keep it from getting exceptionally dull, given the amount of traveling and repeated firefights in the game.
Seconding this. Far Cry 2 is a perfect example of how a few bad design choices (ie: no fast travel, constantly respawning enemies at checkpoints) can ruin an otherwise great game.
There's...a little bit of fast travel? The bus stations count, I think. But yes, it's still a pain getting around.
Still, the bus stations are always so far away from where you actually need to go and usually from where you are. I don't think that I ever used a single bus in the course of the game.
Watching the C&C3 LP made Me realize how damn nostalgic I've become these last few years.
Therefore I request a VLP of Westwood's second and perfected masterpiece Command & Conquer: Tiberium Dawn! (or C&C1 if you are picky.)
Honestly though, if someone LP's this game, please play some multiplayer at least once, it is really fun if you get some peeps with you!
Eh... In my opinion Tiberian Dawn and sun are a lot more slower paced than CnC3. I think it would be better to have them as screenshots, I know someone was doing a Red Alert SSLP but it looks like that's been abandoned.

I would very much enjoy LP of Ecstatica.

Ring of Red
It's a slow but excellent strategy game
I have heard that popular opinion widely varies from your own, chief, but it IS safe to say that it has a lot of very, very interesting ideas behind it that are handled with varying levels of success.
I admit it's not for everyone. You'd definitely have to cut out a lot of the chaff in battles - when I say slow I mean really slow - and good god don't make it a VLP or else you'd kill your audience.
Gonna request Daggerfall (using a Redguard, natch), as the LP's on Youtube are shit.
I'd like to see an LP of a game that I spent a lot of time playing back in the day: Unreal Tournament. I'm talking about the one that came out in 1999. Such great memories with that game, and so many mods! And it had some of the best music ever created for a game.
So there's this thing: http://nintendoland.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=6056
It's an awfully (and I mean AWFULLY) translated bootleg of Pokemon Crystal. So awfully, in fact, that it's unbelievably funny. There's some dudes on that forum already doing a playthrough of it, but in true youtube fashion it's a video with zero editing, which even the translation can't save.
Now there is a thing called Pokemon threat level, but when and if that allows it (or maybe it could get an exception?), I believe this is too funny to not be shared with the world, in a not-boring (screenshot) format. Or maybe I'm just easily amused and this isn't that funny, in which case welp.
Bonus offtopic question: Why does the Pokemon threat level exist anyway? Was the forum flooded with Pokemon threads at some point?

vvvvv Is that a stealthy way of saying this is one of them? (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-smith.gif)
How different is that translation from the original game? Is it actually enough to warrant its own LP?
Since we're three months past the release date for Dead Space 2, I'd just like to throw a definite request out there for someone to LP it. The game's just about as good as its predecessor, perhaps even more so, and is definitely worth LPing.
I just created a test post for a Let's Play of Heroes of Might and Magic III, thus fulfilling a promise I made about a month back or so. It is viewable in the sandcastle if anyone was looking forward to it with extreme or marginal interest.
I'd like to see an LP of Hydrophobia, the Xbox 360 version. With a reworked version soon to be released, it'd be nice to have a baseline for the changes that have been made.
I was surprised and disappointed to learn that Hydrophobia is not a game about rabies. (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Apart from the constant water everywhere the game looks rather painfully generic, but I would love to be proven wrong.
Maybe this is a bit much to request, but I'd love to see someone take on the Mega Man X series like Simon is with the Classic series. An in-depth account of someone playing the game normally, rather than the ridiculous things you usually end up seeing (Most of Violen's runs come to mind when I say this. As awesome as they are, they tend to skip over everything that's not "Run through real fast take no damage murder everything"). Ideally they'd do the whole series, or at the very least up to X5 or X6.
I'm thinking about getting it but would love a professional preview if anyone's interested in throwing their Hat into the ring.

There's always HideOfBeast's minimalist runs. The commentary is pretty interesting, and the fact that he doesn't use the dash at all through x1-3 makes it more interesting for a minimalist run.
Unfortunately, that's the only X series LP I've watched, and as it's a "no damage, no weapons, no armour" run, it doesn't really fit with what you want. Still though, it might be your only option for now.
Who feels like hurting themselves?
The Silent Hill: Shattered Memories thread has convinced me that I'd really love to see an LP of Escape from Bug Island, a terrible survival-horror game from the shaky (literally) early days of the Wii. It's all the clunkiness of Silent Hill with none of the tension, because you're fighting really stupid-looking bug monsters the whole time.

Does this LP need to be informative with lots of useful information from the game? Or is it okay if it's just a lot of complaining about how horrible the game is interspersed with some of the best survival horror voice work I've ever seen?
I have a couple requests: Klonoa for the Wii, preferably video, and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil for the PS2, also in video.
Series doesn't get enough love around here (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Metroid: Other M isn't in the list but I can't imagine it hasn't been requested. Video with any voiced commentary would work.
I've heard several people say they'd want to do this, but a test post has yet to materialize. I'm right with you in that I'd love to see it done.

Actually, I'm actually planning to do this sometime soon. I've been putting together test footage, and will probably have a test post in the near future.
(Also if it interests you at all, I may do Tail Concerto and/or Solatorobo as well, depending on how things turn out. (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-3.gif))
I think most people are just hoping for videos of Slowbeef complaining about Other M. He doesn't have to be the player; I'm sure as a commentator it would still be wonderful.
I just saw a posted preview for The Darkness 2, and it reminded me that an LP of The Darkness would be really cool. Video for sure, although both voiced or subs would work. It's also based off a graphic novel (I think), which could make for some cool extra stuff.
Has anyone else ever heard of a game called Run Like Hell? It was an Xbox game from the early days of the system. It wasn't very popular, and to be honest it wasn't really all that good, but I loved that fucking game. Not only was it basically Dead Space years before anyone ever thought up Dead Space, but it's also the first game that used a Breaking Benjamin song for the main theme, and even had a special music video included along with it. If anyone has the game, and would be willing to do a video, or SS/V hybrid lp of it, I would be able to die happy.
It was hard as balls.
I went searching today, has no one ever taken a serious stab at LPing Theme Hospital? I'd love to see someone skilled at the game build some efficient hospitals and then deal with viruses, exploding machinery and of course rats.
Screenshots might be the best way to go, though I wouldn't object to video either.

I would like to see someone to a Video Let's Play of Baten Kaitos of the semi-informative variety (ie, Game Mechanics are explained where they come up, but it's mostly just a commentator, and maybe co-commentators dicking around).
Oh, and if the first game is played, the voice acting must be present in all of its terrible glory.
You are a cruel person. Love the game but oh my god those tin cans they must've talked into.
I remember reading once that changing the audio settings from the default Stereo to Mono or Surround gets rid of the "tin can effect", but I have no idea if that's actually true.

I'd like to see an LP of the Rockstar PS2 game, The Warriors. It always looked kind of cool, though it didn't seem to be hugely successful at the time, perhaps due to the late in the life cycle of the PS2.
It actually does help, for whatever reason. As terrible as the voice acting is in that game, it's kind of endearing in a weird way. Well Mizuti's anyway.
I'd absolutely love to see someone torture themselves through a run of Enter the Matrix. I remember playing it and half the time the god damn game would crash while loading.

I unironically loved the shit out of this game. I'm putting it on my list of possible future projects.
Hey, what happened to that Let's Play Archives thread? Wasn't there one here a few weeks ago?
Hey, what happened to that Let's Play Archives thread? Wasn't there one here a few weeks ago?
the game would be best done by a hardcore matrix apologist
I didn't know that after that terrible third movie there still existed hardcore matrix apologists.
I was wondering when someone would finally pick that low-hanging fruit of a joke I set up there. (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/emot-v.gif)
Also, if anyone thinks the third movie was the worst thing that every fell out of the Wachowski's collective partially-transsexual asses, they clearly haven't played the later levels of Path of Neo. (Please don't spoil it in case people want to see an LP which may or may not ever exist.) Suffice it to say it has to be seen to be believed.
I'd like to put in a request for M.U.G.E.N (or simply put as "Mugen").
If you haven't heard of it, it's a freeware fighting game/engine for Windows which works from user created fighters and stages that you download and import. So what this leads to is people ripping characters from ROMS so you can finally see what it'd be like if Sub-Zero fought Michael Jackson from the Moonwalker game. With complete customability and the potential to make He-Man fight Mario, it'd definitely make for an interesting LP.
I would just do a LP for it myself but I have no idea how to used the character creation programs and I feel like it'd be necessary for a proper LP of it. I do like your idea of a "Poverty Fighter" LP though that just went through the best and worst of low budget fighters. I'd have to nominate Clay Fighter and Fighter Maker for that one.
Alright, who's going to take the dive and do Shaq Fu?
Aidyn Chronicles seems like an especially weird fit for Angy Old Novasol since I've never actually played it. I hear it's godawful, but watching it dawn on a fresh player just how bad (or misunderstood?) it might be could be a good angle.

Or I can just tell the tale of Nasir the goddamn toothpick warrior. I actually beat that game as a kid and have a wealth of hatred for it.
I DID want to do Shining Force 3 but it seems more punctual people got them already.
It's been a very long time since I've tried my hand at an LP. I was looking at the request list, and I noticed Aidyn Chronicles and Lagoon are both on there and was wondering if they were still undone. I kinda had a thing for taking incomprehensibly bad games and doing... things to them.
Lagoon was LPed by Nakar a few years back. I wouldn't mind seeing you give Shining Force 3 a go.
Alright, further exploring the possibility of Shining Force 3, but I can't seem to get a straight answer to this: Do scenarios 2 and 3 have completed translations or no?
The translation patch is not finalized, but apparently there shouldn't be any Japanese left ingame. Unfortunately I've not had time to try it out myself, but if you drop in at the Shining Force 1 thread and ask there I'm sure someone will have played it through and be able to give you the rundown.
And I would love love love to see a Shining Force 3 LP.
I've also noticed there's... a bit higher standard for LPs now than there was back when I did my LPs back in 2007. This is starting to sound suspiciously like effort.

Feel free to do so. I've been having issues with my subtitling program, so it'll be quite a bit before I fully start my Klonoa series LP.
I'd like someone to do a VLP of Eternal Darkness. I know that General Ironicus mentioned wanting to do one, and I'd be all in favor of him doing it, but the idea still comes to mind.
And before anyone mentions it, all of the links in ssskinner's LP of ED are broken. (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-colbert.gif)

On a similar note, I would like to see an apologist LP of Too Human. The game had a great art style and a fantastic premise, but managed to be a total fucking disaster.
Okay, we were talking that it might be hard to find Matrix apologists, but that's a series with 3 movies, 3 video games, and assorted media. There's enough to sift through. But Too Human is one single game with a long development history and nothing big to show for it. If you can find a Too Human apologist who's name isn't Denis Dyack, I will be very surprised.
By the way, Denis Dyack, if you are googling your name and find this post, for the love of peanut butter, just make Eternal Darkness 2.
I would like someone to do a screenshot LP of Final Fantasy VI (preferably without changing the default character names).
The one on the archive is literally incomprehensible to anyone who hasn't memorized the game.
I'd like to see someone do a screenshot LP of Star Ocean 3 or Final Fantasy XII International. Someone who really knows their way around those games and knows how to break them in two.

Here's a request: instead of requesting MORE Final Fantasy LPs, can we put a fucking ban on them for a few months? I think there's literally six or seven going right now.
I'm also fairly sure that's pretty much all of them (all the final fantasies), and it's not like they're all offensively bad or anything (like pokemon was)
I'm also fairly sure that's pretty much all of them (all the final fantasies)
Nah, I'm pretty sure there are plenty of handheld ones left. There's also Crystal Chronicals, The Crystal Bearers, and Chocobo Dungeon Adventure or whatever that roguelike-type game was called.
I would love to see a Lets Play of Gladius. It was probably one of the best games on the original Xbox (and I think it was also on P.C). It sad because it seems like not a lot of people heard of it, so it did poorly.
Anyone here interested in Bust A Grove? It's a Save The World Through The Power of Dance game. Looking at those prices it is apparently a pretty rare game.
Pluses:
The music in this game is absolutely amazing
Since it has many characters there is a chance for thread participation.
If several people get together they can play against each other.
Cons:
It is an old game, no multiplayer.
May be difficult to maintain humor and interest.
Game is hard to find.
Requires knowledge of how to record playstation.
Note: This is one of the few games I wish they'd release on PSN, and release a multi-player for. Fuck shooting at people, I want to serve people in a dance battle.
Gladius is super fucking boring from an observer perspective, though. It would need some serious editing to keep the action flowing and a good narrator/commenter.
Legend of Mana LP
Yeah, that would be the major problem
*Welcome back to my lets play of Gladius, today we will be fighting in the beginners cup at the Bloody Halo to gain an entrance cup. We will win one and need three in order to advance to this cities championship bracket, which will be a slow fight that limits us to the weird niche fighters we only have for these situations in order to win this cities badge so that we may advance to the regional finale.*
Since we're three months past the release date for Dead Space 2, I'd just like to throw a definite request out there for someone to LP it. The game's just about as good as its predecessor, perhaps even more so, and is definitely worth LPing.
I recently rewatched OatmealRaisin's Dead Rising LP and would love to see Dead Rising 2 done in a similar way.
I know I've already asked for two, but I just noticed something...
Is anyone going to do an MGS: Peacewalker LP? I noticed Chip had a video of him testing his PSP video capture abilities, but since he's doing Uncharted 2, I almost think he's just going to pass it up.
I'd really appreciate it if someone took up the reins, if Chip isn't going to. If he is, then I'd at least like to know if it's in the back burner or not.
raocow did it. He's off-site, but he produces decent material.
Got a very unique style (being himself), of course.
Has anyone ever done An Untitled Story?
http://www.mattmakesgames.com/games.php (scroll down)
I was never able to beat it when I played a few years ago, because it is a bastard platformer/adventure game. Someone should LP it if they haven't already!!
I think he's probably tired of MGS after doing 2 in a row. That or he might just be waiting for the PS3 release, along with the ZOE collection.
Yeah, raocow's LP of this was a really good one. He does it blind, but between every video he got hints about things he missed, so as to 100% the game. He edits things out when he fails repeatedly but shows all his deaths. And he keeps mainly on-topic with his commentary which is...rare...for raocow.
Looking through the master list, I'm surprised that no one has done a lets play of Mount and Blade, it seems like the kind of game Goons would like.
There's one from last year in the Short Game Theater.
Looking through the master list, I'm surprised that no one has done a lets play of Mount and Blade, it seems like the kind of game Goons would like.
Oh man, please don't ban these. I really wanna see an LP of Crystal Chronicles. Doubly so if we can get The White Dragon to do it.
I'd like to see an LP of de Blob and/or de Blob 2.
Easily 2 of the best games on the Wii and more people need to see them.
pokecapn, medibot, Kaz, and I streamed Other M in a single night. pokecapn was the only one who had any knowledge of the game and we were all ignorant. It was a very strange evening. I know it's not a Real LP but if you're desperate...
Part 1
Part 2
I'd like to see a blind VLP of Super Mario Tabarnak, to see how players react to the ridiculous unfairness of the game.
It's a terrible Super Mario World romhack I made years ago, and while there are a few videos of it out there, there are no proper live commentary LPs of it being played. Which is a shame, because the game is built to screw you over with "gotcha" moments that predict your save stating patterns and punish you for them.
Anyways, the ROM is downloadable here: http://www.nagnazul.com/smt12.zip
If any adventurous LPers are up to it, I'd love to see your reactions.
I'd love to see a playthrough of Solium Infernum, done in a style similar to the way we do Diplomacy threads. Honestly I'd just love to watch Goons pretending to be demons. It would be awesome.
This would be pretty amazing. Or something along the lines of Rock Paper Shotgun's treatment thereof. Either or.
A Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks VLP on Nintendo DS. The main reason no one has Let's Played it is because it's very difficult to actually capture the video on it. I'm not sure how hard it is nowadays, but I remember it was near impossible in 2008.
I think this would make a great let's play simply because of the disappointment that the game had towards fans of the Zelda series. It's the black sheep in the Zelda franchise, giving people a lot to talk about. There's multi-player to make for some interesting bonus videos, a lot of interesting plot development and changes from the previous title to talk about, and so on.
It would make a great informative/funny, live commentated Let's Play. This game needs some justice, so preferably from someone who likes and has played the series. (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Apologies for all the bold tags, thought they would make it easier for the OP to scan the post if he didn't want to read the whole thing.
I'd love to see this (as well as Phantom Hourglasss) and I can think of none better to LP it than Mecca Prime. He's done an outstanding job on every other handheld Zelda game and is close to finishing Minish Cap. I don't know if the technology is there, but I'd enjoy that very much.
On a similar note, I can't believe nobody has done a normal run of Twilight Princess yet. I haven't seen or played it since the Wii's launch and I'd love to revisit it.

We considered LPing Phantom Hourglass for a while, back near the end of our Wind Waker LP. From our experiences with it emulation isn't exactly perfect on the DS Zeldas so there were some graphical issues here and there. It wasn't unplayable from what I remember but it could have stood to look a lot better and I dunno if it was really... acceptable quality for an LP. We ended up abandoning the idea because we just couldn't get it to look good enough that we wouldn't feel bad about it.
This was about....shit, two years ago, now, though? I don't know if DS emulation has really improved in that time, that's not really my area of expertise. But those are the issues we ran into.

It improved a great tons, unless it's a 3D game like Dragon Quest 9.
A lets play I would like to see, would be Sword of the Stars. Its a really cool strategy game that could be described as Total War in space, there are six unique factions and ranbomized tech trees to that the game is never the same twice.
It would be even better if someone could finish the one that was abandoned a couple years back.

I would really like to see a video LP of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective for the DS. I think this game would be suited to a Let's Play if only the bottom screen is seen.
First of all if this was done it would need to be a hybrid LP, because like the Ace Attorney series, it has large blocks of talking. Unfortunately also like the Ace Attorney series, this would be almost un-LPable. A big part of the game is trying to manipulate as many things as possible, seeing how they interact, and learning from failures. Doing the correct solution right off the bat would make the game look more arbitrary and difficult then it really is (and it would be really boring to watch). Also, the LP would have nothing to offer those who've already played the game.

I have a sudden desire to do an LP of Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. Is that too played out, has someone else on this site done that?
The other week, while perusing the shelves at my local dollar store, I found a bunch of shrink-wrapped copies of the 2005 re-release of Jack Orlando: A Cinematic Adventure (Director's Cut). I bought a copy, figuring that I might find a hidden treasure, and if it sucked, I would only lose a dollar on the deal.
Right on both counts.
Orlando boasts hand-drawn animation, and all the dialog (laboriously translated from the original German) is fully voiced by a cast of virtual unknowns. The music is actually pretty good (composed by Harold Faltermeyer, who also scored a bunch of popular movies... and the game Two Worlds). The packaging boasts that there are "nearly 100 characters," and they run the gamut from shopworn film noir archetypes to breathtaking ethnic stereotypes. It's a point-and-click adventure with a slightly wonky interface and puzzles of the "try everything on everything until the game says you're done" model (walkthroughs are available).
I would LP this myself, but my poky lil' computer doesn't handle video recording very well. I would love to see this as a narrative VLP.
Symphonic Rain
VN's are a hard sell as far as LP's are concerned. Unless you can find a copy of the script somewhere you're going to be stuck transcribing everything, which takes a massive amount of time. Add this to the fact that no one wants to read a giant wall of text and you find yourself seeing a massive amount of effort with very little reward.

I would like to request Aurora, which is an indie 4X game. You can pretty much call it the Dwarf Fortress of 4X games due to its complexity. That is pretty much the reason why I want to see it LPed, in video, to serve as kind of a teaching tool for getting into it.
Heres the wiki link

Cubivore would probably need alot of editing to really work as a VLP. At times it's very slow-moving, but at the same time I don't think screenshots would do it justice.
Really? That's a bummer. It's one of those games I'd like to check out at some point but obviously can't. Oh well.
Frankomatic was going to do it but then recieved some unnecessarily harsh criticism from someone claiming to be the end-all-be-all of Cubivore. So Frankomatic backed away because the other person stated that they had all this preliminary work already done. Surprise surprise, it never got made.
I think you can do the LP now Frankomatic.
Cannibal, I've had this burning desire to ask you this, so... are you going to LP Ice Pick Lodge's next game, Cargo!: The Quest for Gravity when the 3 month rule is up? It's absolutely fucking insane and I wanna see you take it on (or take it apart).
Hey, thought I'd take this here myself and give an answer.
Of course I bought and completed Cargo! almost as soon as it came out, had a great time, enjoyed the ice-pick 'feel'; summed up by all of the bizarre and impossible features that are off-handedly explained as a sincere statement of fact then leaves you to mess with the possibilities.
But once I reached the end I had very few questions. There were some excellent themes and ideas but they were either self-evident, wholly practical and disconnected, or so wide in scope that looking for symbolic nuances would have felt like desperate reaching. I'm sure there's a fair bit to say, but nowhere near as much as in The Void. I know it hasn't been out as long but at time of writing this the english section of the ice-pick forum has 439 topics for The Void and only 38 for Cargo!, and most of those are about technical issues.
But hey, maybe a let's play is just what it needs, to force people to micro-analyse everything in thirty-minute chunks. Ice-pick are wonderful and I'm sure it would be worthwhile, even just to show off the insanely colourful spectacle. My laptop can barely keep a smooth framerate most of the time so I won't get around to it any time soon, but if my options open up and enough people who've played it chime in with some interest or ideas on how it could work I can see it happening.
You know I vaguely remember watching a video in the sandcastle but I somehow convinced myself that that never happened. If you're still up for it Frankomatic then that would be awesome.
I know I've made a couple of requests already, but...
How come the only Tenchu game anyone has ever attempted was Tenchu 3?
I'd like to see more of those done, especially Tenchu Z for the 360. I know that game might not be the most popular, but I did like the idea of making your own ninja, since you could get more personal with the character you are playing.
All of the Tenchu games would be nice, but that one is the one I'd like to see the most.

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup - PC, Video "done in the same way Sartak's oddly excellent Nethack LP was done."
Here's something you could watch, Overminty

Hello!
Is Syndicate Wars taken yet? I wanted to LP a game and this one caught my eye...
I was planning to do it in Video and subtitle commentary.
oh it is... damn on to other ones then.
You're right, i've been looking on the LP archive a lot and i wanted to participate. so that one was my first post.
anyway, i found a new project... no one has claimed Lost Patrol on Amiga yet? I was thinking of doing that.
not that anyone has dibs on that, right?
And for you Mehuyael, i'm perfectly aware of any normal forum etiquette, that's why i'm calling out the obscure titles i love. I'm aware and i agree of your sentiment that i should lurk more, but that just doesn't work for me. i'll be sure to avoid any confrontations though.

I think you may have missed the point. There's no need to call dibs on a game. If you want to LP something, just LP it. (You should probably make a test post in the Sandcastle first, though - make sure you read the first post!)
I'm really sorry then, this is all my bad, seeing the Sandcastle thread first would've helped a lot. I'm terribly sorry. And now i'm off to create LPs
I checked the list and didn't see it: has anyone done Indigo Prophecy?
Yes, LordMune did it, but under it's UK name(I think it's the UK name; I could be wrong):
http://lparchive.org/Fahrenheit/
I would love to see a thread just about poor Wii ports, especially one that showed them side-by-side with the 360/PS3 versions. I guess it would be less an LP and more a video series but the bargain bin thread went just fine with that sort of concept.
If someone does this they gotta do Star Wars: Force Unleashed. As someone who's played both versions, it's basically the pinnacle of terrible Wii ports.

I would like to see someone VLP Final Fantasy VIII.
There's one in the archive.

I assume that's why he said VLP. Though honestly, I don't think that's a terribly good idea. Maybe a hybrid similar to BrainWeasel's nearly finished X-2 LP.
A straight VLP of a text based JRPG is a godawful idea reserved for Youtube.

Are there any video LPs that are like Supergreatfriend's Deadly Premonition LP? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUmtWd5w3nc)
That was the first and only LP I've seen, and I liked it because the guy shuts up at any time there is dialog so I can enjoy the story. Additionally he kept quiet anytime he did something for the first time and commented on it afterwards. His other qualities (in-game movie reviews, excellent explanations) were merely icing on the cake.
Basically I want to know what LPs are out there are like that.
I'll check out the Assassin's Creed LP. But Trespasser...is it really funny or something?
I haven't had a console since the first Xbox, and my PC's too shit to play modern games. So I'm looking for quality story-driven games that I can watch in HD. Ideally ones with limited grinding (or an indication of which video or timestamp to skip to).
Illbleed seems horrible. I didn't play it when I had a DC even though I could've borrowed it, so why would I watch someone else play it? (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/smile.gif) The same could be said of Deadly Premonition but I watched unironically because a lot of people said it had a great plot.

In case you didn't know, Stabbey (and I'm going to guess you did since you would have checked the archives before posting), here's a Serious Sam LP by Freelance Astronauts. It doesn't satisfy your requirements, but at least it's something to watch until you get your serious Serious Sam (...Sam) player.
http://www.freelanceastronauts.com/games.php?id=40
The existing Serious Sam was done in the co-op campaign, and not even on Serious difficulty.
I'd like to see someone LP Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising. Preferably with video for the cutscenes but a lot of the missions are long repetitive slogs that might be better as a SS LP or with a good duo-commentary.
And because it's quite an obscure game I'll just note it's a Carrier Command clone from 2001 with a few twists. The most memorable thing about it is that they somehow got some excellent voice actors (Tom Baker is the narrator and it also has Glynis Barber and Paul Darrow from Blakes 7) when voice acting in computer games was still in the 'Eh, get Dave from accounting to read into a microphone' stage. The fact they're all from classic British sci-fi made it even more unique (though it is a British dev), I can only assume they all shared the same agent who suggested they get into this big 'video game' thing everyone was talking about.
Or, in short, it has Tom Baker talking about nano-machines.
It was also written by Warren Ellis, who is a moderately famous British comics writer and internet personality. Transmetropolitan, The Authority, Planetary, etc. GoG had it for a while but seems to have lost the rights to sell it for some reason. I love it, and would second your request.
Does anyone ever plan to do a Prince of Persia Warrior Within LP?
I kind of want to see one.
Coulis is working on it. Don't quote me on that, but I heard he wants Nidoking to co-guest with him for this LP.
I'd love to see an informative VLP of Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun and the expansion. Why? Because I'm completely crazy and also can't be bothered to replay it myself. Tiberian Sun was way underrated.
I think it's the other way around. Once I get Space Quest done, I plan to put my HD recording and posting ability through its paces with a game I know well, and Coulis has said he might be interested in guesting.
I think it'd be really cool to see a Xenoblade Chronicles LP. It came out in the UK only, but seeing as SA has goons from all over I figure seeing an LP of that might not be too hard (and I guess someone could try importing and playing it through Wii Homebrew, but I dunno if that's against the rules or not).
I'm watching a playthrough of it right now on Youtube and it seems awesome for a vLP.
It's probably a bit too soon since it was released in the UK about 3 days ago.
I was thinking about this game lately, and I'm surprised that, considering its title, I could even find it. The Thing for the PS2 has had me wondering what the fuck for nearly a decade now, and it'd be great if I could see it without having to put up with all the "your dudes are committing suicide also you are infected with this thing and have a super-vulnerable core" mechanics.

I own it and let me tell you - it is the most incomprehensible fucking "adventure" "game" you will ever play. I have not beat it. I recall a story of the only reviewer I ever recall taking it on, Frank Cifaldi, saying he had to CALL THE COMPANY to find out how to finish it, and I think they actually referred him to the designer specifically because nobody else knew what the fuck happened in it. There's a couple of questions on GameFAQs and no actual walkthroughs because nobody can finish this fucker off.
Also it's not really funny at all, despite that cast.
There's a walkthrough. You have to pay $9.95 for a pdf of it. I had considered doing this game whenever I finished LSL but I too didn't find a whole lot of enthralling things to talk about.
Darkstar Guide
I thought we were talking about Blackstar and was confused, but if memory serves, the description you gave forBlackDarkstar might describe this as well. Makes me kinda want to LP that one.
You know what needs more love (and LPs)? The Goemon series. Specifically, a 100% LP of Goemon's Great Adventure (or Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon 2 for PAL) would be absolutely great. I love that game so much, but have to this day not finished it nor seen all the content (and there is a TON of secret/bonus stuff). Surely there must be someone up to this task here? Better if it's a co-op run, better still if the other person is completely clueless.
Well though it's later on in the Goemon series, Minifoo did the N64 Mystical Ninja. To add onto your idea though, I also wouldn't mind seeing an LP of Pocky and Rocky, always felt like the SNES Mystical Ninja game and Pocky & Rocky had a lot in common.
I thought that was the fan translation LP.
He's suggesting that since it's actually being released here for the first time effectively later this month the three month rule effectively hasn't even started yet.
So would that mean that the translation LP would have to be put on hold when the PSP version comes out? I'm not sure how this would work.
3d. ROM hacks and fan translations don't really count for the three-month rule.
3b. If a game is re-released but not significantly changed, you only have to wait three months since the first release. Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition doesn't "reset" Resident Evil 4's release date. REmake, though, I consider a different release than the original Resident Evil if that helps.

His blip account is entirely empty, in fact. Hmm.
Anyone who does Pocky and Rocky should move on to Heavenly Guardian which was initially going to be a sequel but the creators lost the license. It's a bad game but people need to see it.
On that note, there are a lot of obscure US released Wii games that are actually remakes of old ass Japanese arcade games. There's a game called The Monkey King and you wouldn't guess by its NES style Western box art that it's a cutesy sequel to a Master System game called Cloud Master.
Nephrite, Polsy and Niggurath: According to my sources, Michel Parameter is taking a break/quitting the internet. Seriously went all-out on it too, because even his tindeck is empty.
What's the point of deleting all your stuff....? I was going to watch his Silent Hill 3 and Prince of Persia, too. (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-smith.gif)
Some people get really weirded out by the prospect of people in real life discovering their LP hobby. This is where Rirse swoops in and reveals he reuploaded it all 35 minutes ago.
Dark Sector - 360/PS3
Heretic II - PC, Video
Time Splitters 3
Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior; PC/PS2, Video.

Oh, is that what happened? I thought he just went "peace out bros" and deleted everything, but if there was a reason for it then I can understand.
Also, TV, while I was here I figured I'd give the list a look over:
I'd be interested in seeing a multiplayer screenshot LP of Civilization V. Probably the best way to go about doing this would be in a similar fashion as the Dominions 3 LP, viewing each player's turns from their own perspective. This would mean however each player would have to have their own recording/screen capturing equipment, which isn't out of the question however it could prove difficult.
Steam has a screenshot tool you can use by simply pressing F12 (or whatever you have it bound to).

I noticed there's an archived version of X-Men Legends, but nobody's done X-Men Legends II yet
I'd really like to see an LP of Donkey Kong Country Returns, especially one by a longtime fan of the Donkey Kong series that can talk about the game in relation to its predecessors. Every level in the game is long and full of little secrets, so a 100% run would be cool. Even a co-op playthrough would be interesting. I'm surprised that it hasn't been done already (unless it has and I'm missing it, in that case let me know.)
I haven't seen an entry on it in the master list or anywhere in the archives, have there been any attempts at a Bad Day on the Midway LP?
I'm considering doing one if I can get it to work properly, it's a real unique and artsy adventure game. I have a 64-bit OS so it's a crapshoot as to whether or not I'll be able to run it myself, especially with a recording program in the background. If I can't wrangle it then I'd be happy if someone else were to take it on.

Anyone who does this should know some trivia about The Residents to make it more interesting.
I'd love for that to happen, but from my (admittedly somewhat limited) experience with the series, they're really slow games. The tactical combat pads the game out a lot. It'd take someone with a lot of patience and a lot of spare time to trim down the fat into something entertaining to a reader and update more than once or twice a month. I do hope someone can step up to that, but I'm not holding my breath. Maybe ComposerGuy could take another crack at it once he's done with BoF2? He seems to have become considerably more reliable in the past year and a half.
It might work better as a video LP than a SS LP. Even so, the Avernum games are a bit easier and move a bit quicker than their Exile counterparts from what I remember. I do have the games on my system, I can crack one of them open some time.
Excuse me, on the master list are both Blood Bowl LP's supposed to be listed as ongoing and require archives to view?
http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh...40&pagenumber=1
That was one is still on-going and does not require archives to view. Not sure about the other two that you're talking about though.
Avernum seems to crop up every so often, but I've yet to see anyone get past more than 12 or so updates before losing interest. I think if someone approached the game with the intent of showing off the plot and mechanics -- that might have a better chance of success than the usual "I want the thread to participate and collectively make all gameply decisions for me" method.
You know what I would really like to see a playthrough of (because I don't own either of the consoles it came out for)? -- Brütal Legend
People have endured worse gameplay on these forums, I'm curious to see just how much Tim Schafer manages to shine through in spite of the bad design decisions.
I spent most of my weekend failing at Fate of the World and it makes me want to see an LP of it, either by a competent player showing how to save the world, or a goon-voted clusterfuck to show what would happen if power was ever given to mildly sociopathic retard manchildren.
Just out of curiosity, who requested Rock Band and what would be done with an LP?
It would have to be a very creative way of telling the story of a fictional band, basically.
I've debated whether or not to post this as it is probably a terrible idea, yet with a decent group of people I think it could be quite amusing to watch. I've thought about doing it with some friends but quickly realized I had no idea how to do it and frankly that we just aren't talented and funny enough to pull it off. But I was thinking we'd create a new band with each character being some kind of fictional version of ourselves. Each update would include a video of the set we've played perhaps interspersed with in-character commentary between songs and a post detailing the latest band news. Or alternatively, it could be a recording of us dressed as the band members actually playing the game along with a post with fictional band history, information, and drama,
Like I said given the right people I think this could be a great little show to put on, but it would take at least some talent and a good sense of humor to pull off.
Also I would like the request Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology since that a severely underrated game.
Baiten Kaitos
Baiten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and Lost Ocean - GameCube
Baiten Kaitos Origins
I'm currently taking on Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean. Also, do you happen to know if the first request (just plain Baten Kaitos) was for the series, or if it was just shorthand for EW&tLO?
Vandal Hearts
It'd be really awesome if someone could organize a Europa Universalis III multiplayer LP somehow.
I'm supporting this idea. Just how feasible would [a multiplayer Europa Universalis III LP] be?
Tazmania. Has there ever been an LP of that bullshit Fox kids cartoon inspired genesis game?
I remember it having the sort of frustrating gameplay that makes for good LP watching.
Tazmania.
I'm like 99% certain that it was fuck-you-in-the-ass hard. Like, "asshole version of Donkey Kong Country's minecarts" hard. I would love to see this, whether informative or funny, but I think it would go best with one of those "turn it on and take a nap" super-chill LPers.
Hey uh can I request Catherine now? or is still too soon.
What would be interesting is to see someone who can do each mission with the bare minimum. Like I wanna see maps completed with four marines, with the lper sharing the knowledge that three only works up until a certain point, because s/he tried to do the map with three. But I imagine that would be a lot of work.
I'd like to see the second and third Gabriel Knight games. I don't know, I've never played them and they seem like they'd be fun to see done.
I'd like to see the second and third Gabriel Knight games. I don't know, I've never played them and they seem like they'd be fun to see done.
That sounds like it would be tremendously frustrating and unfun for the poor LP'er. RTS missions are already really long with an element of random chance and mistakes potentially leading to a loss. Seeing someone skirt the edge of disaster might be fun to watch, but it would probably not be fun to attempt.
I'm surprised there hasnt been a Let's Play of Dead Rising 2 yet. If I remember right someone did a Dead Rising 1 LP that was pretty good and actually helped me decide to pick the game up.
Plus the co-op mode could make for an interesting thing too.
I'm pretty sure that TerrorVan is just lazy/forgot to remove it.
Given he hasn't updated the list in a month and a half, I'm gonna guess the former.
Considering his post history, I'd be more inclined to think that he might be busy. Unless he's lurking in which case he could be inside this very thread RIGHT NOW (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-stare.gif)
There are a few more on the request list that have been completed too:
Advent Rising
Donkey Kong Country
Drakengard 2
Fire Warrior (Also on the list as Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior)
Loom
Tomb Raider 4, 5, and Angels of Darkness
I would like to request an LP of McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure where FirstAidKite does his terror van impression the whole time..
I would like to make a request for The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age.
Hell yes. This is a surprisingly awesome RPG, despite being a ripoff of FFX.
If nothing else it has the single most ridiculous final boss fight I have ever seen.
There are a few more on the request list that have been completed too:
Advent Rising
Donkey Kong Country
Drakengard 2
Fire Warrior (Also on the list as Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior)
Loom
VVVVVV
Edit: You're right. Man... there are a lot of Tomb Raider games!
When was Advent Raising completed?
Ah yes, OatmealRaisin did an amazing job with the saving all the survivors run. I do think at least one guy did a test post for Dead Rising 2 but I'm not really sure why no one else has tried it, especially with the Frank West expansion having just come out.
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale would fit a hybrid style of LP rather well, I would think. Plenty of room for goon involvement as well.

I don't know if this is the best place to ask, but here goes. I was considering doing a lets play of An Untitled Story, which appears on the request list. However, I was wondering, do people think it would be better as a screenshot LP or video LP?
As fun as the dungeon crawl is to play, I'm not sure how fun it would be to watch. It's not exactly thrilling gameplay, especially when you consider a hybrid LP probably means only one person doing subtitle commentary. I think screenshots with the liberal application of animated GIFs could probably get the job done best.
EDIT: It's like those "The World Ends With You" LPs that show videos of the combat. I'm sure the combat is fun to play, but it's not much fun to watch, especially if you haven't played the game before.
The dungeon parts, while fun to play, are definitely too long and generally repetitive to make for an entertaining video as they are. I think you'd definitely want to heavily edit it down to a highlights reel.
I would be interested in seeing a video LP of MadWorld for the Wii, because I am terrible at it and I'd love to see how it's played properly.
I'd prefer if it was subtitled because the announcers already have commentary of their own, and two voices at the same time (even with proper auto-ducking and the like) would probably sound a bit iffy, but if there's some way to make voiced commentary work as well I'd be interested in seeing that.
The 2005 action RPG Xanadu Next just got a completed English fanslation and it's apparently fucking awesome. Someone should LP that when they get the chance.
No, you really need to cut them out for the bulk of each level somehow. There aren't nearly enough soundclips and they get annoying as hell when you don't have a controller in your hand to focus on instead.
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale would fit a hybrid style of LP rather well, I would think. Plenty of room for goon involvement as well.
I'm so tempted to give this a shot. This game is amazing, like a cross between a Legend of Zelda game and a Diablo clone. It's also relatively short, but very challenging the first few playthroughs. There's also a good deal of customization allowing you to basically create your own strengths and weaknesses.
On the note of Falcom English fan-translations, Brandish 2 on the SNES just got one, and I'm fairly sure Brandish 3 and 4 also have them. Seeing someone tackle those games all in one thread would be pretty impressive.
I could only see this working as a screen shot LP. The dungeons are excessively dull. Not bad to play, but there's nothing really in it for watching it.
I'm after this one video someone posted in this thread a while back, where two (or more) Japanese dorks play the first level of Mario64 trying to run away from a 1up he just 'collected'. They're screaming and Mario's jumping all over the place with this flying mushroom zooming after him around the level.
I thought about doing one for a while until I realised it'd all be pretty much screenshots of the same thing over and over. It's a game that's fun to play and maybe to watch your friend play, but would be dull as hell to watch strangers LP and you'd be doing the game a disservice.
I'm so tempted to give this a shot. This game is amazing, like a cross between a Legend of Zelda game and a Diablo clone. It's also relatively short, but very challenging the first few playthroughs. There's also a good deal of customization allowing you to basically create your own strengths and weaknesses.
I think Epic Mickey for Wii would be really interesting to watch.

Dude, read the rules. Specifically point 3.
Can't I request it a few months in advance like I mentioned? I just thought I'd get a jump on it cause it's such a good game. Of course neither I nor anyone else would LP it until the 3 months has past.
PS. If I do this Let's Play it will have to start in December

There's no "reservation" for lping a game. You can (and should) pick something else in the meanwhile to improve your video making/commentary skills instead of waiting for exactly 3 months and 1 day to post your thread.
Yeah, 'reserving' the LP is pretty dumb because it makes you look like a little kid yelling DIBS. There's no upper limit on how many times someone can LP a game, or how many can LP a game at the same time. If you're really desperate to make yours the definitive one then just make sure it's good.
Despite being undeniably frustrating it is still fun and charming but not that well known these days I think. At least, I've never met anyone who's heard of it...
There's been occasional mention in this thread of someone doing Left Behind: Eternal Forces. I'm renewing that sentiment, because I really, really want to see that game done in its full terrible glory.

I vaguely remember someone starting some kind of LP on that game, but I don't think it was ever finished.
I think there have been a few instances that never go past the second update.
Novel though it is, from what I remember, it's a painfully boring game. It'll definitely be a challenge to keep people engaged.

Is Red Chocobo going to LP one of the newest Pokemon games? Because if not, then I would like to see someone LP either Pokemon Black or White. I know that there is a ban on doing them, that's why I had asked if he was going to do one of them.
I don't know if that's possible, they were kinda banned from the LP forums since they brought out the more demented crazies and weird creeps doing REALLY REALLY creepy things.
If someone did one that DIDN'T turn into that it would be good and all, but we all know that won't be possible.

Wow, I only ever read Red's posts in those threads. I wonder what I missed. (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-stare.gif)
Didn't he used to have a different name? I coulda sworn the Crystal LP had his name as something else.

A weird request: I'd like to see someone do an LP of the weird Japanese RPG Maker horror game Ao Oni. Hybrid might be the best option to illustrate the random jump scares in the game, as long as it's NOT a full video LP. There's enough of those on Youtube, and they're all terrible.
Don't care which version it is, though it's worth noting that apparently every version of the game changes things up, though I think only 5.2 and beyond have English translations.
Download is here: http://mygames888.info/aooni.html
Does anyone here plan on doing a Last Remnant LP for the superior PC version? It's a surprisingly good game, and I feel like it could be shown very well in a vLP.
I'd love to see one but I think you'd have to make it a hybrid at the most. The battles can get seriously repetitive and there isn't a lot of visual difference from one moment to the next unless you're going up against supersize monsters or pulling out the higher-end spells and abilities.
Is this a good place to get help remembering the name of a game?

Eventually. Be patient and wait for the third version.
I heard a while back that there wasn't going to be one this time. Have they reversed their stance on that by now?

I could have sworn I heard Pokemon Grey announced.

UNFULFILLED REQUESTS:
X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse - PS2/X-Box/Gamecube/PSP/PC
I'd kill to see an LP of Total Annihilation. It's possibly my favorite RTS of all time, and still a shitton of fun to this day.
I'd love to see an LP of Koudelka, even though it plays like shit, it has an interesting plot, and great interaction between the characters.
I think it'd be quite difficult to make an engaging LP of TA. RTSes are a traditionally awkward genre to LP unless they're heavily tactical or in some way different from the standard template, which TA isn't really (though its fairly fast pace would help). Then there's the additional problem that a lot of combat in TA involves selecting red dots on the radar map and targeting them with missile launchers or long-range plasma cannon, which isn't going to make for riveting viewing.
Has it been long enough for Infamous 2 to be LP'd?
Has it been long enough for Infamous 2 to be LP'd?
I think a general "RPG Maker" megathread would be best, or a contribution to the short games thread because, well, most RPG Maker games tend to be either short or have extended grinding periods with nothing interesting going on.
I requested this ages back, like a year or something... I'd really like to see a LP of TES: Daggerfall. I think the game is even official freeware now. Something informative would be infinitely preferable to someone's Serious Narrative attempt but at this point I'll take what I can get. Someone was going to do it at one point but then decided not to. (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)

I'd love to see a SaGa Frontier 2 LP sometime, since I could never get past the boring guy's storyline, which is required to advance the game.
Daggerfall would be a really, really hard game to LP. It's riddled with bugs.
Actually, I think it might be a good candidate for a "Let's Break" a la Pokemon Blue. There's so many ways to break Daggerfall on your knee that I'm sure someone knowledgeable would be able to make it quite entertaining.
A Daggerfall LP isn't worth the pain. A screenshot LP would consist of identical-looking sprites in mechanically generated cities, and a video LP would crash to desktop every time you rested, or opened a menu. Then your save is erased!

I think you could make an interesting LP by quickly going through the main quest, breaking the game in the process and showing off some of the more interesting stuff like certain dungeons, enemies, turning into a werewolf etc. It would be a lot of work though.
This is slightly off-topic, but I don't know where else to post this. Does anyone know the name of the hentai game that was LPed that had incest in it? I'm not actually interested in the LP of it (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-barf.gif), but I'm looking for the E/N thread where some guy posted as though he was the protagonist of the game. It sounded like it could have been pretty funny. I already tried PYF, but nobody seems to know anything about it.

The Warriors - PS2; Video
I'd like to see someone really good at Recettear play through it, preferably beating the game by as huge a margin as possible and showing off everything afterwards.
Actually I'd like to see a dual playthrough one by the skin of your teeth coming up with just enough cash to pay the bills and one where your rolling in dough as that would be fun to see how the two gamepaly styles differ.
Terror Van, I think some of the ones in the list have already been done. For instance, I noticed Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth in VLP format is on the request list, but Hbomberguy has it completed.
Just thought I'd point that out.
Oh, i'm pretty sure there's a few on there that has been already done, but it would be painstaking to try to sit down and weed 'em all out. I take care of them as i'm told of their existence.
Putting a request due to honest interest in Chaos Legion.
Someone didn't check the master list.
I'd like to request The Cursed Crusade.
It's an odd game for PC, x360 and PS3, published by Atlus and developed by some crazy french team.
I had the chance to play the first 30 minutes and It's very interesting: plays like The Witcher, has long cutscenes (a lŕ Kojuma) and a lot of weapons to use.
And It has character. A lot of it.
It came out in September, so it's been 3 months. I don't think it'd make much of an LP do its randomly generated rogue-like nature.
I guess I'd just like to see someone beat all the bosses. Do they randomly generate too? I'm just interested in the game, it sounds pretty far off from anything I've ever played, and I don't trust my bargain bin laptop to play anything more intensive than Mine Sweeper.
It's literally a flash game in an executable shell. If you can watch YouTube, your computer can probably handle that game. It's a much, much more fun game to play than it would be to watch.

I'd love if someone did a vLP of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. I'd be more than willing to do co-commentary as well, after extensive playing of the game.
Shit, thanks for reminding me I need to make some time and actually start that, I've been terribly busy with other stuff.
You're looking for The Meteor, The Stone and a Long Glass of Sherbet.
Does anyone remember the name of an Interactive Fiction text LP done a while ago?
It's set in some kingdom where magic no longer works, and the game starts off with the player character on an elephant ride while some princess prattles on about nothing. The player causes the elephants to crash, so they stay at a hotel and the player eventually finds his way into an underground cave and learns some magic. I think a meteor was involved.
I would love to see a LP of Grandia 3. It has by far one of the best "so bad it's good" plots. So much good stuff to make fun of.
My favorite song in that game has to be Requiem of a Birth.
Too bad that song is usually being played under some really really dumb plot development.
I'd really like to see a LP of the Phoenix Wright games done. They're some of my favourite games on the DS.
On the other hand, Ghost Trick is rather similar and the LP for that worked out very well.
Admittedly, I've never finished Ghost Trick (but I'll get around to it, I swear (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-ohdear.png)), but Phoenix Wright literally can have the music change from the standard courtroom music, to Cornered, and then to silence as Edgeworth shoots down your theory all in a single sentence. There is absolutely no way to represent something like this with screenshots, and video would be boring as fuck to watch. And you can't go without the music/audio, because it plays such an integral role in the game.
I retract my statement, I didn't realise it was such a can of worms. (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
edit: I thought it could just be a gif-heavy screenshot LP with links to music whenever it comes up, but I guess even then that wouldn't be enough.
I would love for someone to LP the classic Danish surreal noir FMV puppet adventure game Blackout. I remember reading about it when it came out, and thinking it sounded awesome, but I never got a chance to play it. Sadly, it's almost impossible to find any information about it online, much less track down a copy.
I don't really expect much to come of this, but I thought I'd throw it out there on the off chance it actually does get some other people thinking about it, and to say that if someone did it well they'd definitely have me watching. I'd also be willing to play guide to someone, if we could work out a recording scheme a la slowbeef's Metroid Prime, but only if we worked well together.
If you do, you'd have to make sure it's really done a la slowbeef's Metroid Prime run by ensuring there's at least a 10 second delay between the game and the stream you're watching.
The reason I've come up with this whole idea is that I've recently been able to watch some of a friend's first playthrough of Dark Souls. And even though I've played through most of the game, watching him is incredibly fun, because he plays the game differently than I did, discovers different things, goes in a different order. I love watching him come up to something that I know is a trap and seeing how he handles it. I honestly do get that same feeling of exploration that I had when I was first going through the game (and when I go through new areas now). It can be carried over to a non-player.
Not sure how out-of-place it is to say/claim this (or just float the idea), but I was planning on taking a break after AC2 wraps up to tackle some games on my backlog. Dark Souls is pretty high on that list. I wouldn't be opposed to giving it a stab.
Well, I heard about Squint planning a run similar to his Demon's Souls, and maybe we could make a thread out of the pair, with Squint's high-skilled play and someone else running it like this.
I've got a request here that goes a little bit against the grain of what we normally do here, but what the hell: I'd like to see a blind playthrough of Dark Souls.
I also think that if someone does a skilled run, they should do it in human form only, and preferably a rule where they use every humanity item they get, for added weight to possible deaths.
If someone is doing a planned run they'd use humanity as offering to certain covenants to get items. You'd hope any run would be 100%.
Dark Souls
Even if someone were to do it before you, I'd still like you to do one. I'm a big fan of your Demon's Souls LP, and it made me go back and actually beat the game.
It's not off the table, but if someone else gets to it before me, I wouldn't weep too hard.
I can't help but notice that both Little Big Adventures are on GoG.com now, but no requests or entries in the Master List! I would love a screenshot LP of this. I always wanted to play it when it was first released, but it always seemed frustratingly hard (because it was, as far as I can tell). I'm sure there are a bunch of people who can trot through it and give a guided tour. Would really love that.
I'm not entirely sure the system for the Atelier series
I would like to request LP's of the Mana Khemia games and the Atelier series because they're highly underrated and really good. Also I'd like to request an Lp of the Rune Factory games.
The Mana Khemia games are for the PS2 and I'm not entirely sure the system for the Atelier series
Feinne has done Atelier Iris 2 and Mana Khemia-Alchemists of Al Revis, but they didn't get archived so you would (ironically) need archives to see them.
I could ask baldurk to archive them, I make so damn many LPs I sort of feel bad about all the work asking for big long SSLPs to be archived must generate for him.
(img http://i.imgur.com/VtaaD.png)
They're all abandoned tho, so your request still stands I guess.
Man. I swear I searched that list...
I'll check out what's there. Shame to see them all unfinished.
Remember, you have to do a search with no terms to make abandoned lp's show up in the list.
Also I'd like to request an Lp of the Rune Factory games.
The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard

I'd like to request an LP of the Man Vs Wild game. It looks so great/terrible.
I'd like to see an LP of Dungeons of Dredmor. Informative or comedic seem like they would both work really.
We don't do interest checks bro. Throw up a sample in the sandcastle and we'll tell you what we think.
Just throwing this out there, would anyone be interested in an Video LP of Star Wars Episode 1 racer? If I can make the damn thing run on my computer I'll seriously consider starting it.
Fair enough. I haven't used Fraps before, will a 3ghz single core processor be enough to record at 720p? I have to pull out my old machine because apparently Episode 1 Racer is a 16bit application and won't run on my 64bit computer.

-edit I know it wasn't Tshukihime, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't horny bunnies either, because I was around when that game was LPed and hentai games were subsequently banned.
I don't care how stupid this sounds.
I want to see an LP of Final Fantasy XI!
*slams mug down for emphasis*
...This made me want to see it:
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL505763A50782BC30
I'll never get it, but I can't find it anywhere. Of course, if someone has a place where I can watch a ton of someone playing it, I wouldn't mind doing that instead.
Heck, if we can get an LP of Guild Wars and Star Trek Online, why not FFXI?
Realistically it'd probably be easier to emulate the N64 version.
I know it's on the request list but I'm curious as to why no one's attempted a Tactics Ogre: LUCT PSP remake LP yet. I don't have a PSP and want to see what all the hubbub is about. I'm surprised Orange Fluffy Sheep or Feinne haven't done it yet.
I swear I haven't seen one up yet, so if there is one and it's dead or something I must have just passed it.

It would be really really long to do a full play through of LUCT if you wanted to show all the paths. It wouldn't be too bad doing a single path I think, but I'm sure people would want to see everything.

You do realize that you've quoted quite a few RPGs, and people generally prefer that people who are knowledgeable about the game in question to LP those (and most other games, for that matter), right?
I'll definitely be doing FF12 first, and am looking forward to replaying it once again. As for the LEGO games, They've always been ones where once I get in the mood to play them, I wanna just do a marathon through at least 2 of them, so I think I'll just end up spending a month or so of them.
Dude you def gotta do FF12 first. It's like the only FF game that hasn't been lp'd on SA. I assume dis because its like totally the HARDEST FF game ever! I mean you like gotta be tactical and shit to explain whats happenin. AND oh man the story is deep I think(I can't really understand it LOL)
so yeah man like you need to do it!!!!!!
Except for a couple boss battles, I really didn't find FF12 to be that difficult. This'll be my third playthrough of it, so I look forward to it.
He is mostly trying to point out the current LP of that particular Final Fantasy game going on and that some might find it redundant to do another one at the same time. I honestly think it would be fine but I really don't know if there's that much variance to the game or if you're both just playing it completely 'vanilla' would just be recovering the same ground at the same time.
Someone in Europe should do a vLP for 10,000 Bullets for PS2, a pretty bad bit kinda quirky action game only released in europe BUT it features a soundtrack by both Yasunori Mitsuda and Miki Higashino (composer of the first two Suikoden games) and probably one of her last videogame composer roles ever.
Speaking of Europe... I'd like someone to do Shinobido: Way of the Ninja sometime. It was developed by Acquire, the same dudes that did the Tenchu and Way of the Samurai series.
The sequel is coming out on the PlayStation Vita in America, the original not having done so, and I think it would be great if someone would show the first one off.
I'd love to see a Homeworld 2 LP, for the PC,preferably. Everyone has raved about it to me and said that it is one of the best space RTS's out there. I'd like to see how it's played and the finer details in the game before purchasing it.
Except for a couple boss battles, I really didn't find FF12 to be that difficult. This'll be my third playthrough of it, so I look forward to it.
Maybe you'll be able to show me how to beat one particular brick wall of a boss who's always where my attempts at playing through the game end. I forget the name, but I'll say this, the first time I fought him he killed me so fast I assumed it was one of those scripted fights you're supposed to lose.
It wasn't. (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/negativeman-55f.png)
Unless the boss has an obnoxious gimmick that requires Provoke to work and you can't get it to stick to your tank and fuuuuuuck (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/emot-emo.gif)
The only boss that comes close to requiring something like that is one of the super bonus bosses. And you should be using Decoy for that. (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Yeah, decoy even has a cute little duck for a buff icon to further incentivize its use.
I really enjoyed the gameplay of ff12 because it was actually challengingish at times which is a wonder in an ff game but the story was so utterly forgettable in all ways. I actually never bothered to go fight the last boss. I actually prefer the stories be charmingly terrible like 13 because then there's morbid curiosity as to what is going to happen next to drive you.
Apropos of nothing, I have a sudden desire to see an LP of Grabbed by the Ghoulies for Xbox, aka the game that sold so terribly that Rare now makes fun of it at every opportunity.
I didn't have an Xbox when it came out and was always kind of curious to see what it was.
Didn't they change the whole team halfway through FF12's development? Maybe I'm wrong but you can kind of tell that they decided to do something different like halfway through. They make Vaan out to be the main character then the story just kind of forgets he exists and makes Ashe the main focus. It's kind of weird.
Halfway through development of 12, Yasumi Matsuno (producer/co-director) had to drop out due to health concerns regarding his stomach. He was largely responsible for writing the game's story as well, so it probably wasn't good for the production when the guy who created the world the game takes place in (Ivalice) has to jump ship.
It's really telling too, because the game introduces some plot points that seem interesting but have no follow up afterwards and it becomes frustrating.

How far in? There's a couple bosses I can recall ended me pretty quickly at first, namely the Demon Walls in Tomb of Raithwall, Elder Wyrm in Golmore Jungle, and to a lesser extent, Judge Ghis.
It's the giant flying manta ray bird thing you fight after you cross the Sandsea. He just slams into you over and over for huge amounts of damage. He really does kill you so fast that it feels like a scripted battle at first.
Threads of Fate for the PSX. A rather short JRPGish game, but it's still really good and one of my favorites. Not sure what format would be best, so I'll leave that up to the LPer.
I think that a hybrid would work best (video for boss fights, screenshots for everything else) even though the music is pretty fantastic.
I was toying with LPing this, but then I decided to LP FFT 1.3 and at my current pace, I'll have that wrapped up in about 18 months, so (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/emot-v.gif)
I think that a hybrid would work best (video for boss fights, screenshots for everything else) even though the music is pretty fantastic.
It'd also be fun to do with 2 LPers, one going through Mint's path and the other going through Rue's path.
After I finish Shadow Madness I'm more than willing to do Threads of Fate with someone else. I'd have to somehow get videos to work on it, though. It's been a bit problematic.
If you ever get your video problems worked out, I'd do it with you if you wanted. (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-shobon.gif)
Deal. But only if it doesn't take 18 months for you to finish FFT 1.3 or you work on it at the same time with me. (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Edit: Actually, better idea! Since there's a lot of subtle animations lost through screenshots in the game, why don't we just do a vLP of the game? You could record video and we'll do commentary together!
Yeah, that could work. We'll set things up after you finish your current LP. (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-hfive.gif)
I can do 1.3 and ToF at the same time if I have someone to help share the load. 1.3 takes a long time to write up and play. Threads is a lot easier. (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-3.gif)
You know, it's funny. When I requested Threads, I was thinking "Man, this game is totally up Azure's alley! I hope he reads this!" My wish as fulfilled better than expected. With my own LP I know I wouldn't have the time to do it on my own, but I could totally commentate. Any chance I can jump in on this too?
Daggwrfall test post
If you guys don't mind, I'd also love to join in on the ToF LP!
I'd probably do it myself, if I had some means to record PS2 footage - I'd love to see someone take a proper shot at Warship Gunner 2. It'd have to be a video LP, given how nuts it gets, and would have tons of room for audience participation.
The 3-month rule on the PC version of LA Noire just expired. I'd love to see someone take a crack at that flawed gem of a game.
I mentioned an LP of Daggerfall earlier, but really, if someone were to take up the Herculean task of LP-ing all of the ES games (officially, that's Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim), I would personally ensure they ended up as with a plat membership + archives.

I noticed some talk on the last couple pages about Final Fantasy XII. Particularly this:
I just got my hands on a copy of FFXII International, and the English patch to go along with it. Among other changes, it features the Zodiac Job system. Basically, instead of one big job board, you have twelve specialized boards to choose from (Knight, Black Mage, Archer, etc..). Once you select a board for a character, it cannot be changed, so building a working party has a bit more depth to it.
Of course, the real feature, is Weak Mode. Unlocked after completing Trial Mode (100 back-to-back boss fights (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-suicide.gif)), you play through the game gaining no XP, and characters are locked at their starting levels (1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3).
Now if that wouldn't make an interesting LP, I don't know what would.
I'm tempted to do it.
You see that sounds interesting; the guy that originally brought it up though was just skimming the request list and naming all the RPG's to do in semi-blind video format which sounds utterly awful (especially for a first LP). It just seems weird to me that people would just LP a game at random rather than one they actually give a shit about or know anything about.
Agreed. If you don't have a strong connection to a game, there's no way you're going to be able to motivate yourself to push through it. LPing is hard, and no one's paying you or sucking your e-peen to do it. That said, the FF12 idea sounds lovely, and someone should do it.
Also, I'd love to see an LP of Bunny Must Die/Chelsea and the 7 Devils. It's a Metroidvania that happens to be quite difficult. There's a lot to collect and go over and I'm surprised that no one has taken a crack at it yet.

I asked about Daggerfall a while ago, and people said it would be like totally impossible to LP due to length and glitches. But if someone wanted to contest that and tackle the bastard I'd... well, I'd think you had some kind of mental disorder but I'd be pretty pleased. About the LP, not your mental disorder.
I'm sure someone else might do it, but if you want to see a goon that has still done it (but not posted it here), then there's always Raocow's LP of it though I know he can be fairly hit or miss with people regarding his commentary style.
Not only that, but I doubt that either Arena or Daggerfall would make for an interesting LP, thinking in terms of how you could create informative and/or entertaining commentary. Like Corridor, though, I'd be happy for someone to prove me wrong.
I think you could make an interesting LP by quickly going through the main quest, breaking the game in the process and showing off some of the more interesting stuff like certain dungeons, enemies, turning into a werewolf etc. It would be a lot of work though.
Exactly. The main problem with the game, even after all the patching is that quest objectives are frequently unachievable, and if those objectives are assigned in the process of trying to advance the plot -- then you're done. All you can do is restart. Quest givers can go on holiday with no forwarding address, you can be assigned tasks with no reasonable way of reaching the destination before your deadline for turning in the quest has been met, you can be assigned to locate things in dungeons without there being any physical way to actually reach the part of the dungeon which contains the thing you are meant to be hunting. The final patch was kind enough to include a cheat which is basically an "advance to the next plot item" button -- so anyone who wanted to do an LP could simply rush through the game with that, get all the screenshots they needed of the important bits, save the game at the final dungeon, and then go back to square one and try playing through normally. If it breaks, just insert the relevant story bits where necessary and nobody will be the wiser.
That last dungeon is well worth showing off. There were some really neat set pieces in there as I recall.
Having recently beaten it, I think Shadows of the Damned (DMD) deserves a video LP. The game is honestly pretty good, with nice visuals, good music, and excellent writing, even if it lacks a bit of technical polish at times. Plus it's from fan favorite Suda51, with some help from Shinji Mikami and Akira Yamaoka. Sadly, hardly anyone knows about the game because it was barely advertised (SA and Giantbomb are the only places I've seen it mentioned). A good Let's Play would get people interested in the game and in some of Suda's other work as I think DMD is the most "normal" of his games.
Also who doesn't love a good dick joke?
VV Well shit, thanks! I wish he'd made a thread here for it but alas.
IIRC, he felt that since part of the purpose of the blog was to drive traffic to 1UP, it wouldn't be very nice of him to stick it over here as well. He has been linking updates in the thread for his most recent SA LP (Spy Fiction), though.

My friend and I are planning to do a VLP of this game when he gets his shit together (hopefully soon).
Has anyone requested an LP of The Darkness? It could be pretty amazing, what with all the comic books and the sequel that just came out.
I find it odd that no one has even attempted one of it yet. It's not in the master list (not even the abandoned ones), and as far as I know no one has requested it in this thread.
Real weird, considering it's not that bad of a game, at least in my opinion.
Wow, you have been missing out. I have been using Warship Gunner 2 as my pre-stream material, so there has been one hour of live WS2 almost every Saturday for months. We are halfway through NG+ at the moment.
The main problem I see with WS2 as a "regular" LP is that most missions consist of either blowing the shit out of everything or sneaking through pitch black waters in a submarine. I suppose that Goon-built ships or challenges could break things up a bit, but the general gameplay is very much the same throughout.
Still, that is no reason to give up on it; I have been toying with both WS2 and PTO IV as LP ideas, and since they are in the same engine and made by the same team I might just make it a double-header. That way the slower, more strategic PTO could offer much needed breaks from the endless explosions of WS.
There was only one abandoned one: http://lparchive.org/lpmaster/?stit...=Search#results
He's normally doing LP's with KalonZombie now, so you can probably harass him to start one up again.
No, abandoned LPs are hidden on the master list. Hence why its worth searching to see if anyone's tried it before.
Has anyone requested an LP of The Darkness? It could be pretty amazing, what with all the comic books and the sequel that just came out.
Has anyone ever done a zelda fourswords LP? A team with the right chemistry/rivalry could be hilarious if they could figure out how to record from a GC and a bunch of GBA's at once.
Except it would probably much simpler to just emulate that.
I'd also love to see a Kirby Amazing Mirror multiplayer LP, now that I think about it.

That's boring as shit and VBA/Dolphin don't do the GBA/GCN cable yet. I think we're going get serious about building and recording Four Swords + Adventures in April or May, but don't take that as a promise.
I feel like after building a setup that absurd, doing the other games (FFCC, Pac-Man vs., some of the better GBA multiplayer games like Amazing Mirror) will happen as a matter of course.
I know there are LPs on YouTube, DeceasedCrab and another guy whose name escapes me both did really good ones, but I'd love to see a goon's take on Eversion. For those not in the know, it's a cute little indie platformer that gets... very interesting in the later levels. It's on Steam for $5, plus I think the free version's still floating around out there somewhere.

DC was a goon first but he made some gaffes and beat it to youtube where he helped spread the concept of LP to the wider internet.
(img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-can.gif)
Ho boy, you weren't kidding, were you. What exactly did DC do?

It honestly isn't important; what is important is that it's true that Eversion is a fun little platformer and that someone should LP it (thought considering it's length, it'd probably just be good for the Short Game's Theater thread rather than getting it's own thread).
Ho boy, you weren't kidding, were you. What exactly did DC do?

Are four laptops possible for capturing? Or would they not have enough processing power?
The super-condensed version of the tale is that he did some cool LPs (La-Mulana and Cave Story) that personally I even still like in a 2007 kind of way, then he did a metric fuckton more and got a weird fanbase that stroked his ego to the point that he literally couldn't accept constructive criticism, which started a whole bunch of spergy freakouts when standards in the subforum started to improve. Eventually he left and now whenever someone mentions him it starts a halfpage-multipage derail, as seen here.
I'd love to see a Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light LP. It's a spinoff the main series, and the producer Tomoya Asano (who was also behind the DS versions of III/IV) described the game as "a classic fantasy RPG using today's technology", which is pretty accurate.
It's a nice little game with an interesting battle system, a job system reminiscing of III/V with cutesy graphics much like the aforementioned DS versions of III/IV. The game has its faults that mostly stem from the old school design, but it also has it strong points like the Crown/Job System, and overall I think it deserves to be shown off.
Given the recent re-release announcement of Jet Set Radio and the swell Let's Play of the same, I would like to see someone tackle the sequel to that fine game - Jet Set Radio Future. If they're willing to LP the original as well, that would be a nice bonus.
Oh you mean like the LP Uznare finished up a couple of months ago? http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh...hreadid=3433408

Viewing this content requires the archives upgrade. Regular users can only view threads from the last six months or so. Users with archives access can view old threads dating all the way back to 2001. WOWZERS!
Hahaha, yes. Unfortunately it went under the radar. The OP didn't even bother editing the game out of the request list. Also, I do intend on LPing the original, but I won't do so until the re-release because my dreamcast is dead. (And it's cheaper than to buy another dreamcast)
I really want to see a Primal vLP get started. It's a supremely underrated game with fantastic music and unbelievably good voice acting stunted by shitty gameplay.
I'd love to co-commentate, too! I know a lot about the game.
What a coincidence that this game was just added to the PSN. You're kind of scaring me now.
I'm only vaguely familiar with the game, but I am curious to see an LP of it.
I saw there was a request someone do Ghost Recon: Advance Warfighter. I was thinking of doing that after the Black Ops thread is over. Back when the 360 was fairly new I played that game to death in both Single and Multi, and I was meaning to go back and play it again.
The problem is that I have no idea how old that request is, but from the master list I can see no one has done an LP for it yet.
Someone needs to play Fracture. I hear it was a terrible game published by Lucasarts, and therefore needs to be LP'd.
I'd like to request a LP of Fractal: Make Blooms Not War, a music based videogame avalaible on Steam.
It's a mix between Lumines and Chime (at least it looks like it to me) and It's main attraction Is - of course - the OST.
No it really isn't. It's a puzzle game where the soundtrack is good, but in no way cued to the gameplay. You try and make hexes where your every move "pushes" the board. It would be a pretty awful thing to try and show off.
You're basically asking for something akin to a Bejeweled LP.
I don't know a whole lot about Fractal but the reason I was able to do Chime is because the game had alot of mechanics that changed in different levels, like different blocks, grids, and the companion cube piece in the steam version, how the beatline and the pieces worked to create notes, all that stuff. If it weren't for those things I wouldn't have even bothered.
I'd rather see a Sequence LP myself, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if I never see it.
I do highly recommend it, though. It reminds me a bit of DDR (since you go up a path where you have to press directional buttons), with a mix of Puzzle Quest since you use magic and defend yourself.
I think the timer on Assassin's Creed: Revelations is up by now, and I'd love to see someone tackle it. I know Brotherhood hasn't been LPed here, yet, but I would love to see Revelations LPed before III comes out (in October), since I don't have any next-gen consoles anymore.
What happened to Ubisoft skipping a 2012 AC title? (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/negativeman-55f.png)
Since Declan McManus doesn't have private messages, hey Declan McManus! Do you want to do that Threads of Fate vLP together now? Might wash the taste of FFT1.3 out.
Soon, I don't have a quality mic right now but when I do I'll be in touch. (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I'd like to request Deus Ex: Human Revolution, preferably someone who's knowledgeable about the rest of the series; I don't personally care what kind of build is run, but an action-y approach would probably be best.
Once it comes out and passes the 3-month waiting period, I would love for someone to do an LP of Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition
Pokemon LPs are basically banned.
That particular game is a batshit crossover and is allegedly no more a pokemon game than Brawl.
Don't quote me on this, but my understanding is that Poke-LPs are banned because they
A) Tend to turn into terrible fanfiction
B) Invite a lot of sperg
C) Are pretty much all the same "Screenshot, joke, screenshot, emoticon" format
These problems arise just from the type of game Pokemon is; Simplistic story (allowing for the fanfiction and/or really boring commentary), complicated gameplay (for the sperg). As far as I can tell Pokemon x Nobunaga will be free of all of these things.
Has anyone ever done a thorough Sonic CD lp? I honestly cannot stand playing the game but I'm curious about the good future-type things.

There's also the guy's doing all the Sonic games: http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh...hreadid=3450050 so you have quite a selection to choose from.
You might have wanted to check the master list. Mr. Lobe took care of that years ago.

Would love to see a Wasteland vLP or screenshot LP, especially now that the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter is live.
I'd love to see an SSLP of Wasteland, preferably as completionist as it can be.

To be fair, I think it would be just as easy to have someone just make two videos, where one is the Stealth manner, and the other is Assault. It can be two different people; the same person making two videos of the same level; again the same person doing "Now let's see how this would work if we did it stealthily"; or again the same person, but doing it split-screen within the same video.
In other words, it doesn't have to just be one way. In fact, I would want it to be both ways.
This actually sounds like it'd be really fun. I can't imagine doing two playthroughs at the same time what with how long the game is, the amount of sidequests, and all the different dialogue choices, but if someone else wants to do it with me, I'm down. I'm not too great at stealth, but I can practice up if you'd prefer the action side.
What you may be able to do is get a second person who does the stealth LP, though I don't know how easy that would be. Either way, the action one will most likely make for better viewing anyway.
There's a lot of hilarity to be had in an action playthrough, but stealth gameplay is pretty interesting too what with how many different routes there are around enemies. If I can't find anybody, I'll probably just do a mix of action and stealth. I haven't completed the game, so I probably wouldn't do all that great with a stealth-only LP anyways. I'm honestly pretty surprised there hasn't been a proper Deus Ex LP yet.
I think you can get away with using the phrase "It doesn't change anything if you do this stealthily," and then moving on. When it does, then you can do it that way. For instance, the police station. It does change, in my opinion, a lot depending on how you approach it.
Speaking of Deus Ex HR, I recognized Adam Jensen's VA right away in I Am Alive. Did anyone else?
I'd love to see an SSLP of Wasteland, preferably as completionist as it can be.
I've finished that game over 15 times, and I discovered new skill applications and environmental details every single time. I doubt there are any magnetic particles left on the floppy discs, but I should dig around in storage to see if I can recover the original game package and manuals. A completionist run is a painful thing to comprehend.
So would the game be considered abandonware at this point? The license is obviously still active.
I think people in the Kickstarter thread for Wasteland 2 said that since the game had been released in an anthology of other older RPG's within the last ten years that it was indeed not abandonware.
I'd love to do a stealth run for that dual LP, but I feel like DE:HR deserves an HD capture card to do the visuals justice, and that's just not something I can afford. Also the fact that it would be a bit of a huge undertaking for my first actual LP, though I think having dual commentary would help mitigate that.
Speaking of co-commentary, I'm not really sure if this is the right thread for it or not (I think it's too close to interest-checking for the Sandcastle), but would anyone be interested in joining for co-commentary on The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai?
I've finally got recording fuckery worked out and I was hoping to bring in someone who hadn't played the game before (not necessarily on the first video, but at some point) to help keep commentary from getting stale. Or even someone who has played the game, if they're interesting.
True enough, Zorak. I guess I shouldn't be so presumptuous about the legal status of a game, since that could just lead to trouble.
Can you give us a copy of the original Wasteland game?
We would if we could.
This actually sounds like it'd be really fun. I'll go ahead and start working on the LP, but if anyone wants to do the dual-LP thing let me know.
So personally I don't think it's wise to make a point out of the origins of your copy. Just saying.
I was pretty damn good at stealthing my way through. I'd be interested in helping out if someone else doesn't.
If you and someone else do this, have the thread vote on augments to unlock and both playthroughs have to use the same ones, for some schadenfreude and competition.
I actually kind of decided not to do a dual-LP but a normal one due to not even having a real video editor haha, I use Microsoft Expression Encoder which can't make the kind of cuts and arrangement that'd be needed for an LP like that
Go to the tech support fort and get yourself acquainted with AviSynth and all of its requisite affiliations. You won't need another video editor for a very long time, and I promise you won't regret it.
Dual commentary might work if you don't want to do a dual LP.
I'd like to see another large interactive strategy LP.
I haven't seen a LP of The Operational Art of War III and I think that would be an amazing LP because of how flexible it is. The engine supports everything from the squad level to grand strategy and from the Napoleonic Wars to present day. There's a lot of potential in the standard scenarios, and a lot of room for modifications too.
Plus, after the massive update last year, its almost a different game, and looks and plays so much better.
Here's an odd one, could some Cold War buff/fighter jock (I know we've got a couple in TFR) do a run through of the DCS A-10C simulator?
Wouldn't half of the LP just be sitting in the cockpit flipping through all 8,000 switches, knobs, and dials though?
Wouldn't half of the LP just be sitting in the cockpit flipping through all 8,000 switches, knobs, and dials though?
Yes, and?
Seriously though, an LP of a legitimate flight simulator could be awesome.
Lux-Pain (Nintendo DS) Another VN on the DS but this one was a porting disaster with some really bad translation issues. It has about the same level of gameplay as Time Hollow and a very strange story. This is another one that flew under the radar but this should be shown for how bad translations can actually get.
Haven't played Time Hollow in a long, long while, but from what I remember someone LPed it in like 2009 or so?
More to the point:
Actually working on this already. Just need to get around to the "writing" part which might take a bit of a while, since I have other stuff to do beforehand.
There are two games I would like to see screenshot LPed.
1. Time Hollow (Nintendo DS) It is a visual novel game on the DS that has a very interesting story to it. It has more interaction then the Infinity series but much less compared to 999 on the same system. It is a very interesting game that went under the radar when it came out that I would like to see get some attention. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Hollow

I would like to request Shadow of Destiny.
I remember being blown away by the 'realistic' graphics when it came out. Then when I rented it I stopped after an hour since it was so damn boring. Maybe someone could show off the game and somehow make it interesting?
Shadow of Destiny has been done.

So, my pod racer LP didn't pan out, but I see that Dungeon Siege is still on the master list. Has anyone recently pledged to put one together? This is one of my favorite titles of all time.

Trailer here.
Apparently it's a JRPG set in the world of Gamindustri, against the backdrop of the devastating Console Wars. Needless to say, the characters are all moe anthropomorphic personifications of various game companies. Yup. So I'm kind of morbidly fascinated, but too terrified to play it myself (let alone pay money for it.) Please, somebody, show me what I'mescapingmissing!
I'm actually thinking about doing just that in a few months when I'm done with Persona 3 Portable.
You've really got to get a bit into it to realize how badly the game is trolling you by you playing it at all.
Ironically the sequel is actually a pretty good game (and completely unconnected to the first despite having the same characters).
If you're doing that next, when will you do Disgaea 4?
Honestly it still could be next, I can't plan this shit two or three months in advance because it depends on what I randomly feel like playing and I can't predict that day to day.
and despite its sexual theme, actually has an interesting storyline
I swear your list of games you plan to LP is growing faster than you can LP.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the sexual themes a huge part of the story?
Eh, it's about as explicit as Sex and the City. Actually, that's a pretty good comparison in general, if Sex and the City had been made for a target audience of Japanese nerds.
Not what I meant. From what I understand, the whole conflict of the story revolves around the main character's reluctance to get married and the pleasures of being single. This ties into the themes of pregnancy, sex, marriage, and bachelorhood. In that sense, the sexual themes are a huge part of the story, and not something that would be detrimental to the game.
...Unless you were talking about the sexual content of the game itself. Yeah, there's none of that in there.
I swear your list of games you plan to LP is growing faster than you can LP.
One of these days I'm LPing Star Ocean 3 goddammit. I just have to figure out how.
Unless your PC sucks
I would like to request a video LP of Catherine. I know next to nothing about console, so either PS3 or XBox would be fine.
This game has good artistic style, and despite its sexual theme, actually has an interesting storyline (with multiple ends!). It would be a pity if the game does not get a proper LP.
I'd love to see an LP of Bushido Blade/Bushido Blade 2. I'm not sure how long it would be, but it'd be interesting to see how someone would approach a game with it's unique qualities.
In January, Cymbal and I recorded close to the entire first disc of Star Ocean 3 and wrote our first draft of commentary for it. We're planning to finish it when we're in the same town again (late May), but I'm well aware that my track record on efficiently LPing games I say I'll LP is... poor, to say the least.
Having discussed it in another thread, I'd love to see an LP of Dissidia: Final Fantasy (or preferably, its "sequel" which is little more than an expansion pack), Dissidia Duodecim: Final Fantasy
(img http://i.imgur.com/FFohs.jpg)
Think SSBB, but for Final Fantasy, and with the usual jrpg melodramatic story line that we all know and love, a fairly solid battle system, and a large selection of characters.
It's also a big love letter to all of Final Fantasy, full of references to all the other games in the series.
(img http://i.imgur.com/1ePoI.jpg)
It'd be a fairly long haul, but someone who knows a lot about the series could make it interesting.
Are you willing to soft-reset for two hours to get ATK/DEF+30% on Fayt's sword one of four times? And to do this twice more for the other two characters' weapons?
Most importantly, do you have a turbo controller?
Also I think the target audience for the 'Let's play Excel' section of it would be pretty damn small.
(img http://i.imgur.com/FFohs.jpg)
I wouldn't be able to play this but I'd definitely watch it, I've always been curious as to what this game is actually like.
It's basically this all the way through. Only with like a trillion references to FF nerd stuff.
(img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-faggot.gif) "Well, now you know that nobody can beat me. You're still just a kid."
Isn't that this one?

Doesn't seem private to me.
Also, I'd like an LP of Disaster Report

I'd really love to see a Grabbed by the Ghoulies video LP. It's the first original game Rare put out after being bought by Microsoft, and yet it never gets mentioned anywhere. Is that because it's mediocre, painfully generic, or even outright bad? I wanna know!!
There's also Kite's semi abandoned LP of the sequel, Raw Danger: http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh...hreadid=3416822
Sorry about that, HoldYourFire. I can't help you with that. I tried looking everywhere, but even the dude's deviantART profile where he also posted it has been removed.

I'm requesting a LP of any Harvest Moon game. It'd be cool to talk about the ones I've played and to learn about the ones I haven't, plus I'd imagine it'd be fun to participate in.
Legend of Heroes, Trails in The Sky for the PSP

Nevermind. It seem that guy that was doing didn't finish Shadow Hearts Covenant apparently? Shame because I just finished it. If only I had capture equipment.
That said I'd really would like someone to do SH: From The New World.
Now that its sequel is out, I'd like to see an LP of SMT: Devil Survivor. I think I remember seeing it on the master list at some point, but now I don't. It's a shame, really, since it's an interesting departure for the series that seems to work out decently. Screenshot style would probably work best, perhaps with audience participation to decide which character conversations happen?
Someone was doing one at one point and it sadly died, which is probably why you remember seeing in on the list.
I'd suggest doing the enhanced remake, Devil Survivor: Overclocked, since it does have significant extra content... except that it's on the 3DS which means you'd need some kind of godawful camera setup to take screenshots.
The 8th day is the only thing worth showing, but it's not worth ruining the quality of the rest of LP, unless you only do the 8th day on the 3ds, and the rest on the ds version, which would be a lot of effort for something that may not turn out great anyways.
I'm sure somebody's already planning it or working on it, but I'd just like to formally request somebody do Arkham City.
I really want someone to do Asura's Wrath for PS3/Xbox, obviously it'd be a video. The main reason I'm requesting it is because all of the existing LPs I've found on Youtube and stuff have the dumbass LPer talking over everything in a game that's pretty dense with story and narration.
I basically want a video LP where the LP shuts up as much as possible, preferably a mostly text commentary.

I'd like to request a VLP of Aquanaut's Holiday: Hidden Memories, an obscure submarine adventure (?) game for PS3 that should be similiar to WII's Endless Ocean (currently LPing by Zorak).
It shipped only in Japan but a translated english version was released in South East Asia in 2008.
I'm requesting Crash Bash, a PSX beat-em-up based on the Crash Bandicoot series. It'd probably work best as a multi-person LP, since it has a multiplayer story mode, and it's something I can see the LPer(s) really enjoying.
I'll just go right ahead and say me and a couple of friends of mine have had an LP of the Crash Bandicoot series on the backburner for quite a while, which would include Crash Bash, but that said it probably won't happen for a while at this point due to all of us being a little too busy at the moment.

I'm pretty sure Moominbiscuit and Supergraffiti did a one-off episode or two of that game, either in the old cheap PS2 games thread or in the Ratchet & Clank one.
Not to sound like a negative nancy of sorts, but you might want to hold off on saying requests are completed until said LP is well underway or finished. You never know (img http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/emot-v.gif)
Since a lot of us are just talking to ourselves, since the OP never gets updated, I personally want to see an LP of Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger Vs. Darkdeath Evilman.
It's a roguelike, and it's a very funny game.
Without looking the game up at all would it qualify for my short roguelike megathread? If yes just go post a link to it over there and I"ll put it on the next vote.

Oh man. I didn't even realize this was a game that existed. I just watched the trailer for it and I had the dumbest expression of glee on my face the whole time. (img http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-allears.gif)
Darklands
Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger Vs. Darkdeath Evilman.
So I'd like to request a LP of Fate/Extra for the PSP, I'm currently playing it right now and I really like it.
I've been considering taking a stab at doing an LP for this game, it's just been a matter of figuring out how to get everything set up for it (which I mostly have by now) and figuring out what style works best (Hybrid vs. VLP).
I'd be really looking forward to that, as I don't have a PSP and am a big fan of the Fate series.

I already tried a test post a few weeks back for an SSLP version of the game and after a page or two of discussion it was pretty obvious that it needed to be video. I think there were like 3 other people interested in doing the game as well, but I'm probably going to try recording a video for it sooner or later.
There's always hybrid, but I don't know what kind of game Corpse Party is so I'm just throwing that idea out there.
Honestly the sound is so important (I saw Toddy stream it a while back and I've never been more unsettled by just sounds) that I kind of agree with subtitle videos.
I guess you could go off and on with both subtitles and voiced? Like for the random wandering you could explain something briefly and for moments with text you could use voice? Might get kind of disorienting though.
Someone should do an LP of Super Talking Time Bros 1+2 -- I've only played the first one, but it was a real labor of love. They have a design philosophy of no bullshit Kazio level difficulty, and a lot of interesting ideas.
According to the OP, no one has requested Dark Souls? This confuses and upsets me. I think a blind run would be amusing, but Squint's informative Demon's Souls LP was fantastic also, so whatever would work.
The OP hasn't been updated in forever, so there are a ton of games that have been requested that aren't there, Schwartzcough.
Does Xenoblade fall under the three month rule? Or is it exempt because of its odd release circumstances?
I'd love to see Metal Wolf Chaos LPed again. I couldn't get into Genpei Turtle's run because the video quality is so bad but the story is so insane I need to see more.
I'd like to request a SSLP for PSP's Brave Story: New Traveler.
It's a JRPG developed by the late Game Republic released by XSEED in 2007 in NA.
I had the chance to play the first 30 minutes and the quality of story\storytelling seemed solid (for your standard JRPG featuring a teen as protagonist).
It's based on a japanese fantasy novel by the same name.
I think a lot of mileage could come from a combined Earthbound-Mother 3 LP done in succession style, where a bunch of people get an update or two and the whole range of opinions (from griping about clunkiness to complete adoration) is represented. I would definitely be up for a segment, preferably from Earthbound, and I would promise to be polite to the thread and write it well in advance. In fact, my suggestion would be to get all of the parts submitted before actually starting it, so they can be consistently posted and organized under one name (i.e. the OP would title an update "Happy Happy Village, by Quovak", but following his or her posts would show all of the updates and there would always be the same person running the thread)
Zackcat and I have been talking about doing an Earthbound LP pretty soon. My love and knowledge for that game is pretty much boundless, and I'm planning on focusing more on details and background information instead of "haha this game is weird" type commentary, so maybe that's kind of like what you're describing?
I think an LP of Impossible Creatures would be pretty cool, especially if goons in the thread could suggest hybrids. So much potential for hijinks!
